The article emphasised the following: world famous artist Zhang Cuiying, who emigrated from China many years ago and is now an Australian citizen, was not able to hold her scheduled painting exhibition at the Bulgarian Parliament. Even though invitations had been sent out ten days beforehand, the exhibition was cancelled to satisfy objections from the Chinese Consulate. The reason for this was not that there were problems with the paintings themselves (see a report on Zhang Cuiyings previous exhibition in Bulgaria at http://www.clearharmony.net/articles/200304/11652.html), but because the artist had been brutally tortured whilst detained in a labour camp in China and is now considered a dissident by the Chinese government.
