Taiwan: Introducing Falun Dafa and Clarifying the Truth at Taichung's Senior Citizen Assistance Exhibition

From October 30 to November 3, 2003, the five-day Taichung Senior Citizen Assistance Exhibition was held at the World Trade Centre Exhibition Hall in Taichung. The exhibition, which is jointly sponsored by Economy Daily and Taichung World Trade Centre, aims to improve services and care for aged people, and make Taiwan a nation that emphasises aged people's happiness, respect and safety. Falun Gong practitioners participated in this exhibition, promoting the goodness of Falun Dafa and clarifying the truth.

When applying to the sponsor organisation, we clarified the truth about Falun Dafa to all of the staff we met and expressed that we wished to contribute to the activities. The sponsor was moved by the practitioners' voluntary contributions, and gave us much help and many conveniences. The sponsor provided us with a good stage, and arranged for Falun Dafa exercise demonstrations twice a day. At the same time, they published the brief introduction of Falun Dafa's five sets of exercises in their introductory flyer, and made ads to promote it. During the activity, the Economy Daily also published the introduction of Falun Dafa and a story about the beauty of the exercises.

About 20 Dafa practitioners demonstrated the five sets of exercises on the stage with a three-minute film showing the exercise demonstration produced by Australian practitioners. Films such as "Falun Dafa is wide spread around the world," and "Let's create a bright future" were also shown on the large screen. The audience watched attentively and appreciated the goodness of Falun Dafa. Many asked where the nearest practise sites were, how to practise cultivation and other questions.

During the exhibition, we also held a concert. Performances included flute performance, female solo and chorus. The audience watched and listened attentively. A university professor and Chinese medicine doctor made a special lecture, introducing Falun Dafa cultivation from the perspectives of medicine and science. His lecture won a warm response from the audience.

Many people came up to our booth to learn about Falun Dafa, and many of them wanted to join the cultivation practise. Many kind-hearted people asked if Lin Hsiao-kai, who was illegally detained in China, had returned to Taiwan safely. We thanked them and told them that with the help of people from all walks of life in Taiwan, the practitioner has been released.
