Ukraine: Dafa Practitioners in Kiev Peacefully Appeal Outside the Chinese Embassy

After notifying the city government of Kiev, the Falun Dafa Association in Kiev arranged a peaceful appeal in front of the Chinese Embassy on December 12th 2003. This activity, held in conjunction with World Human Rights Day two days earlier, was organised to draw more people's attention to the persecution of Falun Gong in China, and to stop the Chinese Embassy from spreading slanderous lies against Falun Gong in the Ukraine.

Banners that read “Falun Dafa - Truthfulness, Benevolence, Forbearance”, “We Are Not Against the Chinese Government - Stop Persecuting Falun Gong Practitioners”, and “Stop Spreading Slanderous Lies Against Falun Gong” were displayed. Ukrainian Falun Gong practitioners sent forth righteous thoughts together. They also explained the facts to the people around them and distributed "Falun Dafa Around the World", a publication explaining the facts about Falun Gong that has been officially registered in Ukraine.

Practitioners tried to deliver an open letter to the Chinese Ambassador, but thier efforts were rejected by the Chinese Embassy staff. Throughout the peaceful appeal, the Ukrainian government, which has gradually come to know the truth about Falun Gong, only dispatched a few policemen for special duties.
