By a Falun Dafa Practitioner in China
Falun Dafa practitioner Lan Hongyu was arrested by the local police on June 2nd, 2001, and died on June 17th. The autopsy showed that he had been beaten and brutally tortured, resulting in internal bleeding and severe damage to his internal organs and to his brain.
Lan Hongyu, a 35-year-old male Falun Dafa practitioner, was a resident of Sicun Village, Pingan Cheng Township, Zunhua City, Hebei Province. At the time of his arrest Village on June 2nd, 2001 by the Shimen police, he was taking care of his grandparents in Shimen. On June 12th, Wang Cunzhan, Secretary of the Pingancheng Township Party Committee notified Lan Hongyu's family that they should pick him up from the Detention Centre. When Lan's wife, accompanied by Wang, arrived at the Detention Centre, she saw that Lan's arms and legs were each cuffed to an iron bed, and that surrounding him were several bare-chested thugs wearing dark sunglasses. When she spoke to her husband, and cried on his body, he had no reaction. He had already lost consciousness, and his lower body was wet. People told her that Lan had not eaten for 10 days. She could not get any more information. Lan's wife asked angrily, "Why weren't we notified sooner?" They did not answer her.
After Lan Hongyu was returned home, he was unconscious and kept vomiting and convulsing. His situation became severe on June 17th. He was sent to the Beijing Paramedic Centre, but they failed to save him. The autopsy showed that Lan Hongyu was beaten and brutally tortured, resulting in encephalorrhagia [bleeding due to deformed blood vessels of the brain] and large-scale encephalosepsis [degeneration or death of the brain tissues]. His internal organs had all extravasated [the blood had been forced out into the surrounding tissue].
Lan Hongyu was only 35 years old and was always very healthy and strong. He was illegally detained and tortured to death, for no legitimate reason and without legal procedures. Heavenly laws will not ignore this! All those from the village who knew him are saying that he was a good person and that he died for no reason. People are all very sad and feeling sorry that he left behind his poor old mother, his wife, and an 8 year-old little daughter!
We have learned that Falun Dafa practitioner Lan Hongyu was illegally detained many times. He endured brutal beatings and torture. He was forced to freeze outdoors during winter, wearing only shorts. But he never bowed his head to the evil, and he always maintained his righteous faith.
