With their headquarters in Frankfurt, Germany, the International Human Rights Organisation is a worldwide organisation for human rights, with twenty-five branches worldwide. It enjoys the attention of the European Parliament as well as having an Observer's Seat in the United Nations. As the President of the Austrian branch of the International Human Rights Association, Mrs. Glibb wrote a letter to the Mayor of Paris to express her concern about the Chinese Embassy blocking Falun Gong's application to participate in the Chinese New Year's parade. Below is the full text of the letter.
Dear Respectful Mayor,
As President of the Austrian branch of the International human rights association, I was surprised to hear from various channels the news regarding the Chinese Embassy’s attempt in Paris to pressurise France, the originators of human rights, to stop Falun Gong practitioners participating in the Chinese New Year celebrations. The French Falun Gong Association is a legally registered group and has won the French government’s official recognition for its peaceful manner and its obedience of the laws over the past four years.
Paris is the Capital of France and we firmly believe that it will remain the model of the French spirit of “Peace, Equality, and Fraternity"
Here, we earnestly request you to approve Falun Gong practitioners’ application to participate in the celebrations.
Sincerely yours,
Catalina Glibb
President of the Austrian branch of the International Human Rghts Asociation
