On Sunday the 1st of February2004 , Australian practitioner Zhang Cuiying arrived in Finland. The purpose of her visit was to help call on the Finnish government, the Department of Justice, and society in general to pay attention to the basic human rights of the tens of thousands of persecuted Falun Gong practitioners in China. She was herself illegally imprisoned for a period of eight months by Jiang Zemin’s regime. With the help of local practitioners, she was able to use her personal testimony to raise awareness in Finland, and to explain about the importance of putting Jiang Zemin on trial for the sake of stopping this persecution and preventing it from spreading.
On the 2nd of February 2004, on the Monday morning at 8:45, a Finnish TV Station interviewed Ms Zhang Cuiying live. She painted whilst being interviewed. She gently introduced the specialties of Chinese calligraphy and brushwork to those present, at the same time introducing Falun Gong and Jiang Zemin regime’s brutal persecution of Falun Gong and herself. She informed everyone that eight prominent human rights lawyers have helped in lawsuits filed against Jiang Zemin in which she is involved. When the interview finished she had completed the artwork and named it: “Primroses Bursting in Joy Wishing Falun Dafa will Bring Eternal Wonderfulness to the Citizens of Finland.”
On the afternoon of the same day the Finnish Falun Dafa Association held a press conference entitled: “The Public Trial of Jiang Zemin” in a beautiful Finnish building in Helsinki, the capital of Finland. Lots of media and the Finnish lawyer Aik Kanisto attended. This lawyer had helped Falun Gong practitioners to sue Luo Gan, the head of the 610 office when he came to visit Finland in September 2003. At the press conference, Finnish practitioners introduced Falun Gong, demonstrated the exercises and showed the clip exposing the self-immolation in Tiananmen Square. Ms Zhang Cuiying told of how she was detained and cruelly persecuted when she stuck to her belief in “Truthfulness, Compassion, Tolerance” in China, and called on the whole world to sue Jiang Zemin. The lawyer Aik Kanisto spoke: He had helped Falun Gong practitioners to sue Luo Gan in Finland; henceforth he would still like to help Falun Gong practitioners to sue all the evil criminals who persecute Falun Gong.
In the afternoon of Tuesday, 3rd of February, Ms Cuiying made a special trip to Helsinki University of Art and introduced the students of the Art Department to the characteristics of western, eastern paintings and also the traditional art of Chinese brush-painting. With her own experience, she explained that to create a piece of art with a high standard, one must first become a person with a high moral standard. Her level of artwork improved so much only through cultivating Falun Dafa and conducting herself according to the standards of “Truthfulness, Compassion, Tolerance”. She then introduced the students to Falun Dafa, and talked about the persecution by Jiang Zemin’s regime, the spreading of this persecution around the world and the global coalition to bring Jiang Zemin to justice. Afterwards she took out her brushes and painted a picture, narrating its progress, which brought strong approval from the teachers and students. Around the stage lots of students watched, asked for Falun Gong materials and talked to the practitioners.
