In the rain, Falun Gong practitioners from different cities gathered in the morning of the 17th of February 2004 outside the Chinese consulate in Gotheburg. They were calling for an end to the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners in China, and demanding Jiang Zemin, the main culprit accused of Genocide together with his accomplices Luo Gan, Liu Jing and Zhou Yongkang, be brought to justice. They also advised the agents in the Chinese embassy to stop following these four and persecuting good people, and expressed their hope of making the facts of the brutal persecution known to more overseas Chinese.

For more than four years, Falun Gong practitioners have endured heinous crimes committed by the Chinese police, under a campaign manipulated by Jiang and his cohorts. From “transformation” to death quotas for murdering Falun Gong practitioners, from labour camps to prisons, from handcuffing to torture, from media blitz to secret cremation, the acts of the persecution have cost more than 900 innocent lives. Now a new round of large-scale arbitrary arrests of Falun Gong practitioners is occurring, demonstrating again that Jiang and his followers have no remorse for their crimes.

‘I asked for two hours leave from my company to come and join this peaceful protest,’ said Chowa, a Swedish Falun Gong practitioner.‘ As I came here I could see a banner saying, ‘Bring Jiang Zemin, Luo Gan, Liu Jing and Zhou Yongkang to Justice’ from a long way away. We do not have any political notions. Recently more Falun Gong practitioners were arrested in China and tortured to death. We are coming here to let more people know about that and to call for an end to the persecution. We choose to come here in our own time to let both the people both who are working here, and those who come for visa applications know the truth of the horrendous persecution happening in China and appeal to their conscience.”
