When I first started to practise Falun Gong I found that the peaceful field at my group Fa study and at the practise site gave me a kick start in my cultivation. I felt that such an environment couldn’t be found in everyday people’s society. As the Fa-rectification proceeds unceasingly, the number of Falun Dafa activities that I participate in has gradually grown. During this process, I have found that some common problems and tribulations have repeatedly occurred. In the past, I considered them as tribulations that existed in our cultivation and are things that every individual practitioner needs to deal with. Therefore I didn’t say too much about them. However, the frequent occurrence of such issues increased to the extent that it made me think more deeply about them. After I had thought about these issues I came to realise that they are tricks used to consume Dafa practitioners’ energy. This is what I have enlightened to recently and is what I would like to share in this article. The issues that occur when we are clarifying the facts are those that every Dafa practitioner who participates in the Fa-rectification should face squarely.
Recently, there have been a lot of conflicts in our work group which have reminded me of what Master said in the article “Teaching the Fa at the Washington, D.C. Fa Conference”:
“Now when we clarify the truth to others you all feel that we should treat sentient beings with compassion, then all the more so should you be compassionate among our Dafa disciples. You're all disciples in the same practise, and you're giving your all for the cosmos' Fa-rectification, so you should cooperate well with one another. Don't approach things with too many human attachments, and don't cause unnecessary conflicts and arguments by interacting with each other with human attachments. In these situations your conduct should always show Dafa disciples' tolerance, kindness, and niceness. The next person's things are your things, and your things are his things.”
The following are several examples which reflect this and are things that I have observed. They come from my personal understanding, based at my present level.
Be Compassionate to Fellow Practitioners
In situations when the workload and pressure was high, I would often find myself immersed in the work and so I neglected the existence of fellow practitioners. It goes without saying that we need to do our best to finish the work at hand. However, often we only care about our own work and, as a result, conflicts occur. Take some simple cases as examples. On one occasion, practitioner B urgently needed to do some video recording, however, only practitioner A knew the technique. One day, practitioner B approached practitioner A nervously and pushed practitioner A to provide immediate assistance in the video recording. Practitioner A said, “Let me get some water to drink first, I haven’t had a drink for four or five hours.” Practitioner B replied, “Please hurry up! I haven’t had a drink now for eight hours, and I’m still fine.” In the end, practitioner A complained that practitioner B wouldn’t allow him to get a drink; then practitioner B blamed practitioner A that no support was given when it was really needed. In fact if we examining this event now, we all know that both practitioners only thought about their individual matters, leading to unnecessary conflict. However, similar cases as this have occurred in various work groups. Just the events or people involved were different.
Cultivation of Speech
I would like to provide two examples on this issue. Firstly, certain practitioners like to gossip about others behind their back. For instance, talking about someone who has done something bad in the past, or who has conflicts with others and what relationship exists between them. Master can treat Dafa practitioners and sentient beings without counting the mistakes that we have made in the past, how could we gossip about fellow practitioners, who are cultivating themselves and gradually improving in the course of their cultivation?
Secondly I have seen that some practitioners like to work as matchmakers. At the sites where truth clarification work is been carried out, there may be a male practitioner and a female practitioner who coordinate with each other very well in what they are doing, share some common understandings and enjoy mutual chats. Some practitioners would show eagerness to treat them as a couple even though they might not be a couple.
It is far better for our fellow practitioners to examine issues from the Fa, rather than to gossip like everyday people. Moreover, all the words that a Dafa practitioner says carry energy. We should be more serious and careful about what we say.
The Issue of Secret Agents
What I want to say here doesn’t regard actually encountering a secret agent. Often many genuine Falun Dafa practitioners have been mistaken as secret agents among practitioners. What I want to talk about here are those unhealthy situations that arise from this.
In Master’s recent articles, Master has taught us several times that secret agents also need to be saved, not to mention those practitioners who are groundlessly treated as secret agents simply because they hold different viewpoints while performing Dafa activities. Moreover, I have also heard comments made to these people such as: “It is very common to be mistaken as secret agents. Why are you being so sensitive and narrow-minded?” Master asks us to save the people of the world using our compassion, not to push them towards the opposite side. As fellow practitioners, how can we hurt each other like this, and push fellow practitioners towards the opposite side? We can save everyday people, so why can’t we even treat our fellow practitioners compassionately who are in the process of helping Master during this period of time?
Once I watched a documentary about the production of a movie. I was highly moved by this professional group — for a movie alone, they could devote so much time and manpower. I was immersed in this touching feeling for several days. Later on, I thought about what we are doing today and I felt even more deeply moved. During an experience-sharing meeting, I listened to those stories told by practitioners about the projects they were handling. What came into my mind was that the Kings and Lords from various celestial bodies and firmaments came to this world after so many lives of reincarnation. No matter how trivial the things they are doing seem to be, these are all actually glorious opportunities that cannot be obtained for millions of years. All of a sudden, I felt the pressure I was facing disappear.
These are my personal understandings that I have enlightened to via the teachings of Falun Gong. Fellow practitioners’ compassionate comments are highly welcome.
