If Walai could offer an indoor place, we could voluntarily go forth to teach Falun Gong, just like Geneva, Lausanne, Mount, Niyone, Biyen Fribourg” said Lee Kye Ja, who has devoted herself to practising this ancient Buddhist cultivation method.
Since this cultivation method, based on the doctrines of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Tolerance, was banned by the former Chinese state chairman Jiang Zemin in 1999, Miss Lee has doubled her efforts in an attempt to maintain human rights in the face of the cruel persecution against cultivators.
“I could not imagine this in the beginning, but what can I choose in the face of this horrific crackdown?”
It is a Joy
For this young female nurse, it was Chinese herbal medicine that drew her attention in the beginning. In addition to treating people by acupuncture, she voluntarily teaches Falun Gong.
“Through practising the exercises based on gentle movements, I truly feel a state of harmony. I have become more and more tolerant, and have more and more of an understanding of things.”
Cultivating herself truly enables this young lady to look within and find internal inner peace. I would like to point out exactly that Falun Gong is neither a religion nor an “[slanderous term omitted].” Whoever wants to practise, he or she can practise. Just like those who voluntarily practise five sets of exercises in Bosjone Park, Geneva.
Complete freedom
“We are all completely free here. Everyone just follows together a common sense of values. That is, in three words, the doctrine of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance.” This is the spiritual content of this cultivation method, which was introduced by Li Hongzhi, twelve years ago.
Lee Kye Ja discussed from the cultural perspective, “In the oriental tradition, body and spirit are indivisible. It emphasises cultivating mind nature as well as the body...We call it cultivating character, in order to attain harmony with the nature of the universe, which can be summarised in three words, Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance.”
Listening to her remarks, it is hard to imagine how Lee Kye Ya became an activist. It seems to be far away from the tranquil mind produced by Falun Gong exercises. “We won’t be able to concentrate on cultivating until the persecution against Falun Gong practitioners ends. But we can not turn a blind eye to the ongoing genocide and cruel torture.”
Lee Kye Ya listed litigation against the former Chinese state chairman, Jiang Zemin, and his accomplices to confirm what she said. Her face became serious, and then became bright, as she believes the atrocities will end some day. “The prosecutor in Paris just accepted a criminal lawsuit against the Chinese Culture Minister, who is accused of cruel sentences and stirring up hatred through the media.”
One Resolution
“This success is not the first,” the young lady went on to say. “There are many renowned people supporting our efforts. In Switzerland, the Geneva Congress approved a resolution in 2002 that all parties unite together “to protest the human rights abuse inflicted by China on Falun Gong”.”
As early as 2000, Joseph Tess, then Swiss Foreign Minister, expressed worries about the treatment of Falun Gong. Lee Kye Ya said finally, “I only want to be a drop of water against the persecution. You know we do not oppose the Chinese government. What we are against is those who are responsible for the savage behaviour.”
Introduction to Falun Gong
There are over 100 million people practising Falun Gong in sixty countries around the world. No matter whether they are steadfast followers or people who are only interested in it, they are seriously practising the exercises taught by Mr. Li Hongzhi. “Due to the universal principles of Falun Gong (Falun Dafa) and its miraculous effects on the body’s health, it transcends all barriers of culture, race and creed.”
In an effort to maintain human rights, the Falun Gong Association receives the support of non-governmental organizations such Amnesty International, Christian Abolition of Cruel Sentences, Trial Track, Reporters without Borders etc.
