During the time when United Nations Commission of Human Rights is having its annual meeting in Geneva, Australian Falun Dafa practitioners took this opportunity to hold activities to clarify the truth and expose the Jiang group's crimes of persecuting Falun Gong practitioners. The practitioners held a candlelight vigil on George King Square in Brisbane on two consecutive Friday nights. The solemn scene attracted many passersby. They came to look at the photos, ask questions and sign their names on a petition asking China to stop the persecution immediately.
Accompanied by Dafa music, practitioners demonstrated the Falun Gong exercises to the visitors. The peaceful exercises attracted many people, including some visitors from Mainland China.
Many westerners read the materials and immediately went to the signature collection table to sign their names to support Falun Gong's peaceful appeal. Some of them said to practitioners, "We wish you success!"
George King Square is a tourist site for Chinese visitors, so many Chinese visitors come to the square to take photos. Some of them came to watch the display and told the practitioners that they could not see this information in China. When they saw the picture of eight-month-old baby Meng Hao, who was tortured to death in jail, they sighed and said, "This is too cruel."
One female visitor said she didn't believe in Falun Gong or cultivation. Our practitioner sincerely said to her, "We don't want to persuade you to believe in anything. Everyone has the right of belief. But please consider: these kind Chinese folks, only because of practising exercises, improving their health and being good people, were detained, tortured and even killed. Shouldn't the killing of innocent people be stopped immediately?" She did not argue, but just nodded her head.
Then, another group of visitors came. Despite the yelling from the team leader, some of them ran to our site to study the display boards. When the last of them passed our practitioner, the practitioner asked him if he knew Jiang Zemin was being sued. He said, "Yes, yes. He ought to be sued."
Another visitor was watching the display board when a practitioner asked him if he wanted to read truth-clarifying materials. He replied eagerly, "Yes, yes. Hurry up, please give them to me." The practitioner handed him the material and he left happily.
The practitioners deeply felt that more people of the world are now eager to learn the truth about the persecution of Falun Gong, especially Chinese from the Mainland. More and more people support the principle of Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance.
