Finland: Falun Gong received Widespread Support at the Fashion and Wellbeing Event in the City of Mikkeli

The Fashion and Wellbeing Summer 2004 event was held in the city of Mikkeli at Mikkeli concert hall on April the 4th 2004. Falun Gong practitioners from central Finland participated in the event by introducing the facts of the persecution, demonstrating the five sets of Falun Gong exercises and giving people a chance to learn them. Many people showed strong support for ending the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners in China.

Even though the weather was sunny and beautiful, there were still many people attending the indoor event. Falun Gong was a special attraction for people throughout the day. The booth was crowded all day, and there were many people who wanted to participate in the weekend course to learn the Falun Gong exercises.

A large number of people stopped to talk with practitioners and loudly discussed their disbelief that something like the persecution of Dafa practitioners could happen in our time. “Inconceivable” seemed to be the word of the day. People showed their support so actively that sometimes there was a queue to sign the petition. People in Mikkeli were very clear that it is completely wrong to persecute people who cultivate Truthfulness, Compassion and Tolerance, and the persecutors must be brought to justice.
