At the 60th United Nations Human Rights Conference in Geneva, the range and depth of human rights abuses against Falun Gong practitioners in China became the focal point. To gloss over the persecution against Falun Gong, the Jiang group spreads lies to cheat other countries and at the same time, attempts to escape condemnation by the international community by means of economic enticement.
Hatchet man pretended to be a member of an NGO - The Jiang group's attempt at deception at the Human Rights Conference
The international community are deeply concerned about the worsening human rights situation in China. At the end of March, the United States proposed to condemn the human rights agenda of the Chinese Communist Party. In the teeth of the international community’s criticism and controlled by Jiang Zemin who is no longer the president of China, the Chinese Government did not comply with the conference’s conventions, but hastily brought forward a motionless resolution that aroused resentment in delegates from many countries.
The Jiang regime also sent along a so-called community representative and some NGOs that were controlled by the government in order to spread lies to defame Falun Gong at the Human Rights Conference; they attempted to disavow and cover up the truth of the persecution. Falun Gong practitioners uncovered the lies of the Communist Party of China by recounting their personal experiences and revealing the facts.
On the morning of April the 6th 2004, Ms.Yoko Kaneko, who was imprisoned for one and half years in a labour camp in mainland China, exposed the torture and abuse that she was subjected to by the Jiang group. She also recounted how she was forced to watch a video lecture given by a self-professed scientist named Yusheng Wang, who highly promoted the use of sleep-deprivation to torture Falun Gong practitioners.
Yoko Kaneko remarked that she was shocked when she unexpectedly saw the false ‘NGO’agent Mr.Yusheng Wang speaking and slandering Falun Gong at the UN Human Rights Plenary Meeting. She hoped that all representatives would be able to understand how the Chinese regime had been trying to conceal the truth of the persecution through Yusheng Wang’s slanderous words.
According to the WOIPFG’s report on April 5th, Mr.Yusheng Wang is an official of the Chinese regime, and also one of the initiators of the official Anti-cult Association of China, the Vice Director and the Secretary-General. Mr. Yusheng Wang has slandered Falun Gong many times, and used to directly participate in persecuting Falun Gong practitioners at the First Female Labour Camp in Shangdong. According to an Epoch Times report on the 7th of April, this is the fourth year that Mr. Yusheng Wang has led the Counter Heretic Religions Association of China to attend the UN Human Right Conference. Wang acted as the director of the false NGO and gave a speech to defame Falun Gong. The exposure of the Falun Gong persecution hatchet man Mr. Yusheng Wang, has caught the attention of all circles.
The 610 Office formed in June 1999, is prominent in persecuting Falun Gong and is notorious for intriguing and pushing the genocide of Falun Gong for the last four years. However, at the UN Human Rights Conference in 2000 and 2001, Mr. Jing Liu, the head of the central 610 Office, is also using his representation of China to lie to the world and slander Falun Gong.
Falun Gong exposes the lies; seventy four communities express support for the condemnation resolution
As Clearwisdom net revealed in April, Zhangjiakou City of Hebei province has been following Jiang’s persecution orders tightly since 1999. Apart from unlawfully detaining Falun Gong practitioners and putting a great deal into labour camps, over ten Falun Gong practitioners were persecuted to death. Two members of Mr. Aizhong Chen’s family (brother Aizhong Chen and sister Hongping Chen) were killed by maltreatment in succession. The International Educational Development Organisation revealed the tragedy of Mr. Aizhong Chen’s family to the congressional chairperson and all countries at the UN Human Rights Conference on April the 4th 2004, and also appealed to the UN to initiate a special case relating to a group of Chinese issues.
The human rights lawyer Karen Pik pointed out in a speech that the UN’s Unlawful Arrest Working Group has been dealing with a number of Falun Gong practitioners’ cases. Actually, the number of cases concerning Falun Gong practitioners’ arrests has far exceeded the working group’s capacity to deal with them. Other human rights special inspectors are in the same situation, for instance, there are also a lot of cases of unlawful killing and torturing. However, facing the facts that over 900 Falun Gong practitioners were tortured to death as well as 100,000 arrested, these cases do not make a spectacular number. Furthermore, there are also many people who speak up for Falun Gong and their basic human rights are not protected.
Mr. John Jaw, director of WOIPFG, pointed out a finding from the WOIPFG’s investigation: inspired by the ‘Great Cultural Revolution’ and ordered by the National Education Department, all teachers and students from primary schools to universities have to sign a statement against Falun Gong; teachers and students are also forced to watch films which are slanderous and offensive to Falun Gong; it also forces all universities, secondary schools as well as primary schools to execute the motion [Million Signature] against Falun Gong. Students are forced to participate in this persecution initiated by a small group of people who input slanderous and offensive content into teaching material and all levels of examinations of secondary and primary schools via the education system; teachers who refuse to participate in declaiming against Falun Gong or those who do not give up Falun Gong cultivation will be dismissed and unlawfully detained; students are excluded by the school, not allowed to go to a higher grade or graduate, and are even forcibly sent to different kinds of brainwashing classes, The quasi-central camp of the Jiang group’s persecution movement against Falun Gong, carried out by those who are not law enforcement agencies without any law procedure, to brainwash Falun Gong practitioners on the human right abuse basis, practitioners are also sent to labour camps and mental hospitals, even persecuted to death. Ever since 1999, Qinghua University alone has over 300 professors, tutors, PHD students, postgraduate students, and undergraduate students detained unlawfully, their careers terminated and study ended, or sent to labour camps directly.
According to the report on Clearwisdom on February the 27th 2004, 55 months after July 1999 when the persecution started, at least 99 practitioners were persecuted to death because of their belief in ‘Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance’. Their ages range from 27 to 65, most of them were in their thirties. The number of practitioners persecuted to death in Liaoning province ranks fourth in the whole of China. Masanjia labour reform camp, which is located in the suburban area of Shenyang City, has become notorious in the world for wicked brainwashing . At the anti-reform meeting of Masanjia, one senior official in the judicial authority of Liaoning province said, ‘The financial input to tackle the Falun Gong problem has exceeded the expenses of a war."
Falun Gong practitioner Caihua Zhao, a 30 year old college graduate, was an accountant of Zin's factory of Longgang district, Hulu island in Liaoning province, China. She was kidnapped and sent to Masanjia prison camp when she was on the way to buy some food. In Masanjia central camp, as she did not obey different kinds of evil requirements, refused to accept enslavement, she was whiplashed by the evil police, her feet suspended for two days and one night, and also forced to put both legs on top of each other for more than ten hours, until she vomited blood in the end. Later, she was forced to wear thin clothes and detained in a special tiny prison cell in the freezing cold of November, just because she wrote a letter to the provost of the prison camp. When she was released from the cell, her legs were swollen, and were trembling for days. During the end of 2002 and early 2003, Ms. Zhao was subjected to forced brainwashing twice in a building called a 'comprehensive building' that was inside the prison camp. At the end of April, 2003, Ms.Zhao carried out a hunger strike and became emaciated a month later. She completely lost the ability to walk and because the evil police of Masanjia were so scared she would die in the camp they sent her home. Now it is not clear whether Ms. Zhao is still alive or dead. What she went through is part of the normal operation for police in Masanjia.
Before the Second World War, the German Nazi regime averted the attention of an official prison camp visit and also sponsored the Olympic Games in 1936 at the same time. Several decades later, Jiang Zemin has performed similar acrobatics in the labour camp system. Since May the 22nd 2001, the Associated Press and many foreign media have been allowed to visit and interview the inmates of the newly decorated Masanjia labour reform camp.
Furthermore, persecuted Falun Gong practitioners Mr. Ming Zhao, Ms. Cuiying Zhang and Ms. Zhizhen Dai, Australian, who lost her husband, all narrated their suffering in Jiang’s persecution against Falun Gong in the UN's discussion of China’s human right condemnation resolution meeting.
According to the report on Clearwisdom net on April 9th, 74 NGOs jointly passed a resolution condemning the Chinese regime’s persecution of Falun Gong. The resolution believes that Falun Gong is a peaceful spiritual cultivation system, it also enumerates considerable facts, and explains what the dangerous essence of Falun Gong's persecution brings to the Chinese people and the people of the world. The resolution supports the US proposal of condemning China’s worsening human right state at the UN Human Right meeting, appeals to all UN Human Rights congressional members to support the United States proposal, and demands the UN delegate inspectors to China to appoint a human rights monitor. The resolution finally requires China to stop all human rights abuse immediately.
The Jiang group uses economic temptation again to escape condemnation for its human rights abuses
Although lies and scams have been revealed, the Jiang group still replays the same old tricks - generous aid proposals to tempt some small countries from Asia and Africa to impede the proposal of condemning China’s human rights for example. It is hard to estimate the amount of money that the Jiang group has spent, but we can have a look at the huge cost from one recent case. According to a report published by the Conjoint Evening Newspaper on March the 30th 2004, in order to draw over east Caribbean Dominica to its side and establish diplomatic relations, the Communist Party of China gave 117,500,000 dollars to this country with only a 70,000 population. That is more than 1600 dollars per person on average.
At the same time, the Jiang group also exploits political and commercial interests to put pressure on other countries. For example, in late January of this year, during Hu Jintao’s visit to France, the individual leader of France was moved by the commercial gains promised by the Jiang group and illegally arrested, detained and mistreated many Falun Gong practitioners from Britain, Germany, France, Taiwan, Norway and so on. There was worldwide condemnations against France for this unreasonable behavior.
To prevent global lawsuits against Jiang, the Communist Party of China presses on with commercial exchanges secretly
As the initiator and main perpetrator of the persecution, Jiang Zemin has become the subject of lawsuits in Chicago, Spain, Taiwan, Germany, Korea, and Belgium for his crimes of genocide, torture and crimes against humanity.
According to an inside news source, since the lawsuit against Jiang began in Chicago, the Jiang gang 'do not spare any cost.' In the name of the Chinese Government, the Jiang gang used political and economic benefits to coerce and force certain US authorities in order to prevent the Chicago lawsuit from being implemented.
The recent global suing Jiang movement has developed more extensively as a result of Falun Gong practitioners’ strong efforts. According to Clearwisdom, on the morning of March the 12th, Canadian attorneys Mr. David Matas and Lawrence Greenspon represented their client, Canadian citizen and Professor of Art, Zhang Kunlun, to formally file a criminal lawsuit against Jiang Zemin and those who participated in the persecution of Falun Gong to the Canadian Justice Minister, Mr. Irwin Cotler. Mr. Kunlun Zhang was unlawfully imprisoned and tortured in China for practising Falun Gong.
In the afternoon of April the 7th 2004, Chinese Australian artist and Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Zhang Cuiying filed a petition against Jiang Zemin to the United Nations Human Rights Commission via human rights attorney Mr. Chris Nyst. This is the first case filed by an individual to the United Nations on the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners in China.
Jiang group’s persecution against Falun Gong has become the greatest human rights calamity at the turn of the century.
Falun Gong practitioners remarked in consensus that Jiang group’s persecution against Falun Gong has become the greatest human rights issue in China, and also the greatest human rights calamity at the turn of this century. China is one of the members of the United Nations Human Right Commission, and obligated to safeguard the national citizen's just rights and interests, obligated to protect and respect practitioners' faith and the freedom to practice Falun Gong. The United Nations Human Rights Commission is the international body to drive and safeguard the human rights of the world, which is responsible and obligated to pay close attention to the state of Falun Gong practitioners' human rights in China. The Jiang group ignores the UN's conventions, and transforms the UN Human Right Committee into a place for undisguised lies, exploitation and money transactions, tramples on the UN Human Rights Charter and damages China's national dignity and image.
Afraid of the exposure of his crimes against Falun Gong to the international community, Jiang Zemin has exploited the name of the Chinese Government to continually conceal the truth and mislead other governments for years and to force the UN Human Right Conference to show no concern on the issue of Falun Gong year after year with the 'carrot and stick' method.
Falun Gong practitioners also pointed out that the Jiang group’s persecution of ‘Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance’ is damaging human conscience and humanity. In the face of money and conscience, international communities should be responsible for one’s own country and people, see the truth, support justice and keep one’s conscience in the face of the lies deception, hooligan pressure and economic temptations produced by the Jiang group.
