UK: Dafa Practitioners Celebrate the 12th Anniversary of Falun Dafa's Introduction

On Sunday May the 9th 2004 in Trafalgar Square London, UK Dafa practitioners celebrated the 12th anniversary of Falun Dafa's introduction to the public and the Fifth World Falun Dafa Day together. Crowds of people poured into the square during the celebration and came to watch the performance one group after another. Through the four-hour performance, more and more people learned about the wonderfulness of Falun Dafa.

Stage performances were the main feature of the celebration. An elegant 15 metre banner was placed behind the stage as a background, with poster boards showing the path of Fa-Rectification displayed on both sides of the stage. The activity started with traditional Chinese drumming. The UK choir then sang the song, ‘Coming for you’, which revealed the theme of the performance, followed by the peaceful and beautiful exercise demonstration that touched a lot of predestined people’s hearts. Several lovely western children, who sat on the stand behind the stage, followed the practitioners to learn the sitting meditation exercise.

The singing and dancing performance caught everyone’s attention in the square; they came up to the stage in an endless stream from different directions. Some people even stood on the long terrace of the National Gallery opposite the stage which was a long distance away. A lot of people came to ask where to buy the graceful and beautiful Dafa music. Several South Korean girls even wanted to learn the traditional Chinese dancing on the spot. People could not understand why such a wonderful practice would be banned and even persecuted so brutally in China.

In the square, tourists from all over the world came on their own initiative to practitioners to seek out the truth. Visitors from Mainland China also came to watch the performance and talked to practitioners, some of them even asked how to take a Video-CD back to Mainland China. A Malaysian family required some truth materials and told practitioners they had heard of Falun Gong before. They said they would use this opportunity to learn more about it. Many westerners came to the petition signature collection desk and signed the petition to give support in bringing Jiang Zemin to justice and ending the persecution in China. The whole square was immersed in a peaceful and harmonious atmosphere, during which people truly felt the wonderfulness of Falun Dafa.

One thing that should be mentioned is the support of the London Police. Prior to the activity, they came to the practitioners and told us they would support us because they know that Falun Gong is very peaceful and good. They also wished us success in our activities. During the activities a lot of police who were on duty came to ask for leaflets. When the performance had finished, they came to practitioners again and congratulated us on the splendid and successful performance.
