As the 2004 Scotland Car Tour entered its second day, the four practitioners involved in the tour found that they had conflicting appointments and needed to split into two groups. The first group stayed in Aberdeen and visited local media organisations. They went to two television stations and explained the truth about the persecution of Falun Gong to the journalists there. The journalists at both TV stations were sympathetic and supportive. They clearly recognised that the campaign of Genocide being waged against innocent Falun Gong practitioners in China is wrong and is an important issue. The journalists were very helpful and keen to receive more detailed information on the persecution. After hearing about the experiences of one of the practitioners from the Car Tour, who was arrested by police in France for wearing a yellow scarf after they were pressured by the Jiang regime, a journalist revealed plans to film a report on the practitioners’ Car Tour and their efforts to expose the human rights violations against Falun Gong practitioners in China.
After speaking to a local radio station and letting a staff member there know about the persecution, the practitioners moved on to the office of the Lord Provost of Aberdeen. They did not have an appointment so they talked with the reception staff and told them the important reasons for their Car Tour. The reception staff were touched and contacted the Provost’s office upstairs to enquire about the possibilities of an impromptu meeting. The Lord Provost was not in his office at that moment but as the enquiry was made he pulled up in his car. He approached the practitioners, shook hands with them and listened to them explain the facts about the persecution. The Lord Provost was moved as he heard the truth and was shocked and sympathetic to hear about the persecution of Dafa practitioners. The practitioners in Aberdeen ended their day by delivering leaflets to the city’s main library, which will now be distributed to local smaller libraries allowing many people the opportunity to hear about Falun Gong.

The other half of the Car Tour team continued on their journey to the Northern city of Inverness. Here they handed out leaflets and talked to people about the persecution of Falun Gong in the city centre. People in Inverness were keen to learn the exercises. The practitioners went to see a local councillor. He was very concerned to discover that two practitioners in his presence are direct victims of Jiang’s persecution of Falun Gong. One of them was force-fed and tortured whilst imprisoned in China. The other was denied a passport by the Chinese authorities in. The councillor was sympathetic and concerned that these people had suffered because they believe in Truthfulness, Compassion and Tolerance, and that the persecution has even spread to his own country.
Although the practitioners were split up on the second day of their Car Tour, they managed to let many people hear the truth about Falun Dafa. The day was a great success.
