An old man over 70 lives in a village under the Benniu Xinqiao . One day after July 22,1999, the Party Secretary of the village came to the old man's house with a journalist from the Changzhou Daily.
Reporter: Do you know anything about Falun Gong?
Old man: I've never heard of it before.
Reporter: That doesn't matter. Just read this and we'll shoot some pictures of you. (The reporter handed him a piece of paper filled with words defiling Dafa).
The old man read for about five minutes.
The reporter left the old man a wad of money. After the reporter left, the Party Secretary counted the money -- 5,000 yuan in all (equal to 10 months' average income of a Chinese worker). The Party Secretary exclaimed, "1,000 yuan a minute!"
