Falun Gong practitioners held anti-torture exhibitions in downtown New York after activities in front of United Nations on June 23 and 24. The exhibitions received wide attention.

Anti-torture exhibition in busy Times Square

On June 25, 2004, Falun Gong practitioners came to Forley Square, a centre of New York City's government and judicial department. It was the starting location for practitioners' large parade and the location for the ceremony of celebrating World Falun Dafa Day. The anti-torture exhibition on June 25 caught the attention of passers-by. They stopped to watch the exhibition, look at the posters and pictures, and requested more information from the practitioners. Many people waited in a line to sign an appeal letter. Many tour buses passed the square. Tourists on the bus looked out to see the exhibition. Banners reading "Falun Dafa is Good", "Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance," and "Stop Persecution of Falun Gong in China" in both English and Chinese were displayed on the square.

June 26 is Internal Day to Support Torture Victims. Falun Gong practitioners came to Times Square, where there were many tourists from around the world. People were shocked when seeing the torture exhibition. They attentively looked at the scenes showing slave labour of Falun Gong practitioners in China's labour camps and expressed deep sympathy. Some tourists were moved to tears. Many people asked to sign in protest of the persecution. They enquired information on Falun Gong and tortures in China and said that all the facts should be recorded to have more people know the truth. Many people wonder, "Why is such a cruel persecution still occurring in 21st century?"

Within the four days from June 23 to 26, several thousands of people signed to request Jiang Zemin's regime in China to stop the persecution of Falun Gong. On the afternoon of the International Day to Support Torture Victims, 1,368 people signed their at the Times Square exhibition alone. More people learned the facts of the persecution and many spent a long time to view the exhibition and took photos.

During the last five years, Jiang and his followers cruelly persecuted Falun Gong practitioners physically and mentally; too many cases to count. Those openly reported cases overseas are just a small portion of the real situation. More and more people learned the facts of the persecution and have the same voice: immediately stop the inhumane persecution and bring persecutors to justice. Jiang and his followers will not escape public trials.
