On July the RD 2004 in Gelsenkirchen, Germany, we organised the third information booth in two months. We enjoyed a sunny day for the most part, except for a few brief showers.
Our exhibition posters are a good way for people to learn more about Falun Dafa and many people enjoyed looking at them. In Germany, people tend to relate the Swastika symbol in the Falun emblem with Hitler’s symbol. One of the posters explained how the Swastika is actually a treasured symbol that has existed for thousands of years of years. It was always thought to represent good fortune. We got a very positive response after people had viewed these posters carefully.
One woman told us how she had spent such a long time searching intensively for a meditation method. Once she noticed our exercise demonstration, she immediately bought the books Falun Gong [the introductory book to Falun Gong practice] and Zhuan Falun [the main text of Falun Gong]. She also intended to contact the local Falun Gong class as soon as possible where she can go to learn the exercises for free.
One of the discussions I had was with a man who had a hard time understanding why China would ban a qigong practice. As we were talking, a kid passed by and swore at us. The man was very angry and stated that the child could learn something from Falun Gong practitioners.
One of our practitioners was doing the fifth exercise, a sitting meditation, when a police patrol car cruised by. I gave the driver a leaflet through his open window. He was glad to take the information before continuing on his patrol.
