At 9:30AM on July 24, the 2004 Washington DC Falun Dafa Experience Sharing Conference was held in the Washington Convention Centre. Master Li, the founder of Falun Gong, honoured the conference with His presence and taught the Fa [law or principles, the teachings of Falun Gong] for 30 minutes.
According to several Falun Gong practitioners from North America who attended the conference, in the lecture, Teacher pointed out that we have "many shortcomings." For instance, although Teacher has discussed this several times, there are still some practitioners who have not paid enough attention. While having differing opinions, because their thoughts and notions formed in everyday people's society get stirred up, they display an argumentative state and remain attached to their own opinions. This has affected the real discussion in our work of validating the Fa. Today, as the Fa-rectification is concluding, practitioners should realise these attachments and shortcomings more clearly and correct them. Teacher once again reminded Dafa practitioners to try their best to do well what we are supposed to do. Each of the three things (studying the Fa, sending forth righteous thoughts and clarifying the truth) is very important, and practitioners should continuously do them well until Consummation. All mighty virtue of Dafa practitioners will be created in the process of doing these things.
According to what practitioners remembered, regarding the issue in which many practitioners want to see Teacher in person and do not feel happy if they aren't able to, Teacher said that many Falun Gong practitioners in China have been doing very well in a difficult environment without being able to see Teacher, and it is best if one can do better without being able to see him. Teacher is also happy to see practitioners, but for the purpose of practitioners' cultivation and reaching the state of Consummation, it is better not to see practitioners frequently so as to give them the opportunity to establish their own mighty virtue.
About 4,000 practitioners attended the conference.
