Ma Ling, who lives in Xinmin City, Liaoning Province practised Falun Gong before April 25, 1999. After Jiang Zemin's criminal regime began to persecute Falun Gong, she gave up Falun Gong practice. Afterwards she went to Shenyang City to sell cosmetics products. Once she met a stranger in a restaurant. The man bought several dishes of food for her. She refused his offer since she did not know him. The man then yanked her hair and beat her up for a long time. As a result, she became insane and was hospitalized. In order to slander Dafa and get credit from the upper level government, the vicious police from Xinmin City's Police Department told Ma Ling, "If you claim you became insane due to practising Falun Gong, we will solve your case and pay the medical expenses for you."
When a Falun Gong practitioner learned the story, he asked her about it. She lowered her head and said, "Please do not tell anyone."
