On the fifth week after the South African shooting incident, on the day when new and old MEPs on duty exchange their tasks, we came to the European Union Parliament House.
To begin with we brought 1000 English and 600 German press releases concerning the South Africa incident. Little did we know that they would all be distributed by the next day, so we copied another 1000 at the same time as applying for a picture exhibition. The authorities permitted our twenty-four hour 'Jiang Genocide' picture exhibition without hesitation. Lots of people saw our exhibition and talked to us, unwilling to leave for a long time. After seeing our thirty posters, many French policemen changed their attitudes towards us and became friendly, and some wanted to learn Falun Gong.
When going to or from work the MEPs could all see our banners which read ”Urgent Appeal to All Governments and Media to Denounce China’s State Terrorism of Falun Gong Practitioners!”
There were also quite a lot of MEPs who rolled their car windows down when they were still five metres away, asking for a leaflet. Many MEPs gave us the thumbs up in their car.
We also heard lots of MEPs explaining what happened in South Africa to their colleagues who walked next to them when they passed by. We only started to take pictures when all the MEPs had already gone in to attend the conference.
This day was no other than the 20th of July, the day of opposing the persecution. 1700 novice and veteran MEPs must arrive in the conference hall to vote in the new European Union chairperson. All the big newspapers, reporters for TV stations, tourist groups from different countries and the general public were in an endless stream. Our entire 2600 leaflets ran out. Our only banner shone into the eyes of the MEPs going to work every day.
