St. Michael’s is one of the most famous Renaissance Churches in Germany. It is situated in the busy shopping area of Munich. With its neighbour, the Frauenkirche, which is the landmark of the city, this area is a must-see for tourists.
On September the 25th, despite the autumn rain and the cold, the streets of Munich were full of visitors who had come for the Beer Festival. Falun Gong practitioners from Munich and neighbouring areas were also there. In front of the Church, they set up an anti-torture exhibition, an information desk and had organised exercise demonstrations, singing, dancing and drumming.
These activities, as well as a big banner with the words “Bring Jiang to Justice”, attracted many people’s attention. Especially when they saw the anti-torture exhibition, many were stunned. They asked for leaflets, which were available in various languages. Practitioners were delighted, despite being soaked in the rain. They were happy to have the opportunity to expose the Jiang regime’s crimes against Falun Gong and to allow more people learn the truth, by using peaceful means such as the anti-torture exhibition.
Five years ago, Jiang Zemin’s regime utilised its political power and mobilised the whole country in a brutal persecution of Falun Gong. Its scope, the number of people involved and the brutality of the persecution, was unprecedented. Falun Gong practitioners inside and outside China, were guided by the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance and continued their persistent and peaceful civil disobedience and clarified the truth to the people of China and around the world. They aimed to awaken people’s conscience, to call on the governments of the world to end this persecution of Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance peacefully and as soon as possible.
Because the weather was bad, the scheduled dances could not be performed. After continuously sending forth righteous thoughts, the rain finally stopped. A few female practitioners began the “Lotus Dance”, and some other practitioners played waist drums. Through such methods, practitioners demonstrated the beauty of Falun Dafa. Some people in the audience did Heshi (two palms pressing together in front of the chest) to express their gratitude to the practitioners.
