Three years ago on October the 10th 2002, the head of the Life and Health Department in the region of Bergsjön announced that from that point onwards October the 10th would be known as "Falun Dafa Day" in Bergsjön. In his speech he said, "I enthusiastically recommend this ancient oriental practice of cultivation to our locals. I hope that the goodness of Falun Dafa can bring admirable changes to the people in our region." In order to show people the beauty of Falun Dafa, practitioners demonstrated the five sets of Falun Gong exercises and also taught the younger passersby how to fold paper lotus flowers. They also talked with people about the persecution in China about and collected petition signatures calling for an end to the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners in China.
