Ansan-Si (Ansan City) is south of Seoul, and it is the industrial center of the capital area. After China and Korea established formal relations, the economic exchanges between the two countries increased and thus many Chinese came to work here. But most of them don't have legal status, so they don't enjoy the same medical benefits as Koreans. If they are sick, they usually don't have access to proper medical treatment.
The Falun Gong practitioners of Ansan City noticed this situation and with the help from "Epoch Times" Korean branch, they formed a team of Korean practitioners who are also medical doctors, traditional Korean doctors, and pharmacists to provide free medical services to foreign workers (mostly Chinese) twice a month. They also make this an opportunity to clarify the truth to the patients.
Patients come to see doctors | Truth-clarification movie playing in rest hall |
Wolgok Dong District is home to many Chinese workers. It was proposed to set up the clinic on the second floor of the "Residence Center". When the director of Wolgok Dong understood our purpose, he and his staff helped to establish our clinic.
The free medical services have been in place for only one and a half months, starting in September. The doctors and pharmacists are all Falun Gong practitioners, and they treated every patient truthfully and compassionately. At most times, there were over one hundred patients there. Some other practitioners also came to help the doctors and played movies about the truth of Falun Gong in the rest hall, so the patients learned the truth of the persecution while visiting the doctors.
At first, the practitioners were not sure what the reactions would be when Chinese people watched the movies. But in fact, many people watched them intently, and after being treated, some returned to the rest hall and watched the movie to its end. One woman cried when she learned that Falun Gong practitioners were tortured in the jail.
The practitioners' experiment with offering free medical treatment in Ansan City is a means of getting in touch with Chinese people who do not yet know about Dafa and help them learn the truth naturally.
