Germany: Successful Anti-Torture Exhibition held near the Famous Church of Ulm

The great church of Ulm in the south of Germany is famous for having the highest spire in the world. It took over five hundred years to build this ancient church. The church is visited by tourists from all over the world and now it has become a venue for Dafa practitioners to raise awareness about the persecution.

On October the 23rd 2004, Falun Gong practitioners held an anti-torture exhibition near Ulm Church to expose the Jiang regime’s persecution against Falun Gong. Former Chinese leader Jiang Zemin started the suppression of Falun Gong in July 1999 and since then has gone to any length in his attempts to fulfil his own order to “eradicate Falun Gong”. Practitioners from Ulm and other cities such as Stuttgart, Tuebingen, Augsburg and Munich demonstrated the five sets of Falun Gong exercises, distributed leaflets and talked to local people about the campaign of genocide that Falun Gong practitioners in China have been subjected to. The weather was excellent all day long and many people were out shopping. The elegant exercises looked even more pleasant under the golden sunshine and many people were interested in them. Most people took our leaflets happily and thanked us sincerely.

When the exhibition started, the crimes of the Jiang regime were exposed to local residents and tourists as practitioners re-enacted the vicious methods of torture used to attempt to force people to give up their belief in Falun Gong in China. Many passers-by stopped to watch quietly. People were reading the banners: “This is Happening in China Every Day”, “Please Support Us to End the Persecution Against Falun Gong in China” and “Bring Jiang Zemin to Justice”. They were shocked, since they couldn’t believe that such brutal suppression is happening in the world today and that people are being tortured to death because they are following the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion and Tolerance. They came to our information table, asking what exactly is happening in China and what Falun Gong is all about. After hearing the truth, they all signed a petition to call for the instigator of the persecution against Falun Gong, Jiang Zemin, to be brought to justice in a court of law.
