Koli is a skiing resort located in central Finland. The only large hotel there held an activity from the 5th to the 7th of November entitled “Sacred Koli, Beautiful Place” (Pyh Koli, Hyv Olo) which included a small exhibition and a “Fire-Eater” performance. The organisers and the participants at this exhibition all came from different parts of Finland. Finnish Dafa practitioners were invited to come to this exhibition after the organiser saw a Falun Gong exercise demonstration in Helsinki. On the evening of the 5th of November, Finnish practitioners separately set out from Helsinki at the southernmost point of Finland and Oulo in the northwest. They all drove for around six hours or so and, after a brief rest, went straight into the activity.
People arrived in an endless flow for the whole two days. They asked what Falun Gong is, why Falun Gong practitioners are being persecuted in China and where they can learn the Falun Gong exercises. The occupant of the stall opposite couldn’t wait to ask us what Falun Gong was even before we finished setting up our stall. He made time to learn the exercises. He said to us, “I feel that you have a very good field here - you have very strong energy.”
A Canadian music teacher discussed Falun Gong with us in detail. When we gave him a special report on the persecution of female and child practitioners, he said, “Why are they treating women and children with such cruelty? I reckon this party is too afraid of its own people.” We presented him with a hand-folded paper lotus flower and told him about one little practitioner who lost her father in the persecution. He repeatedly thanked us. He said the flower was very beautiful and asked for another one for his son and daughter. Later, he brought his wife to talk to us and his wife also talked about Falun Gong in depth, inviting us to promote the Fa at the town where they lived and stay at their house. We thanked them and said we will if we have an opportunity.
Two ladies who live in Helsinki asked us where they can learn exercises. We told them that there is a regular practice site in Helsinki every Sunday. Before leaving, they gladly said to us: “See you in Helsinki!”
