Recently, Falun Gong practitioners from outside of China have filed lawsuit after lawsuit against Chinese officials who are responsible for the persecution of Falun Gong. This includes high-ranking officials down to the provincial level - from the lawsuit against the Chinese dictator Jiang Zemin which began in Canada, to Su Rong, the Gansu Provincial Party Committee secretary of the Chinese Communist Party, who was served with a warrant for arrest in Zambia. Even in Mainland China where the persecution is still occurring, practitioners have started to protect their rights and interests through legal channels. Recently there is also hearsay on the Internet that the new leadership of the Chinese Communist Party is discussing the issue of "redressing" Falun Gong'. People might soon find out that the current situation is entirely different from the beginning of the persecution in 1999.
A related change has also been noticed. The behaviour of many perpetrators of the persecution has changed. It has been said lately that some governmental departments have attempted to eliminate evidence of their participation in the persecution of Falun Gong, and even an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems called the "6-10 Office" have urgently ordered its subordinates to bring back all the orders and materials which had been given to suppress Falun Gong. Their purpose is to destroy incriminating evidence and thereby dodge their legal liability. A friend of mine in Yueyang, Hunan Province said, when some local policemen now search Falun Gong practitioners' houses, they no longer look for money, personal belongings and Falun Gong materials like before, instead they only take away evidence of the persecution, such as detention warrants, fine tickets and so on. It is laughable that while they are acting illegally, they are at the same time trying to evade their responsibility for these same illegal actions.
It is common behaviour for criminals to destroy any incriminating evidence after they have committed a crime, which stems from the idea of placing trust in luck. Criminals try to escape the law, investigation and punishment. But in the matter of persecuting Falun Gong, such behaviour will not bring them any luck. In China, so many Falun Gong practitioners have been persecuted, their family members, relatives and friends have being implicated, and there are also innumerable people who support and sympathise with Falun Gong practitioners. They are all witnesses. How much material evidence would they have? Perhaps it is very hard for the perpetrators to imagine. A lot of evidence detailing the persecution against those who practise Falun Gong has accumulated over the past five years. How could trying to confiscate evidence and taking back a few documents erase it? Along with the improvement of the overall situation, more and more people will come to learn the truth and will dare to speak out for Falun Gong and Falun Gong practitioners.
On November 14th, 2003, the Chinese version of the Falun Dafa website Clearwisdom.net called Minghui.org notified all Falun Gong practitioners in China to collect and preserve all kinds of material evidence that relates to the persecution. In North America, the World Organisation to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong (WOIPFG) was established in 2003. Their mission statement is "To investigate the criminal conduct of all institutions, organisations, and individuals involved in the persecution of Falun Gong; to bring such investigations, no matter how long it takes, no matter how far and deep we have to search, to full closure; to exercise fundamental principles of humanity; and to restore and uphold justice in society." All crimes committed during the persecution will finally be exposed to the public. Bringing all the murderers and evildoers who participated in the persecution of Falun Gong to justice will be an unpreventable occurrence.
All the participants in the persecution, regardless of whether they have been poisoned and deceived by the lies, or intimidated by the orders from higher authorities, or whether they have done ill deeds at the behest of the regime for their own self-interest, they will all be brought to justice. If you really want to be responsible to yourself, the only way is to quickly make up for your errors by doing good deeds. Protect and treat Falun Gong practitioners well, provide witness and material evidence to help expose those responsible for the persecution. This is the only way for you to make up for your crimes and save yourself from being implicated and brought to justice with the rest of the perpetrators.
