On December 10th, International Human Rights Day, practitioners from the New York area delivered a letter to the UN and called upon the UN to openly investigate the ongoing brutal persecution of practitioners in China and help stop the persecution.
Practitioner Feng Keran, a professor of business at New York University, said that two officials in charge of human rights issues at the UN met the practitioner representatives and accepted the appeal letter along with investigation reports by independent organisations on the persecution of Falun Gong in China. Petition forms containing over 35,000 signatures calling for help to stop the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners in China were also delivered.
Practitioner Feng Keran said, "The two officials said that they would immediately send this information to the UN Commission on Human Rights. They expressed that they would use all possible channels, including the UN Secretary's office, and the high commissioner of the Commission on Human Rights, to bring up the persecution of Falun Gong to the Chinese regime and exert pressure for an immediate end of the persecution."
