The Fa rectifies the Universe |
I heard from practitioners whom have their celestial eye open say that Master came down through every level in the universe guarded by five golden dragons. This greatly inspired me, so I decided to use this to depict the scene for the Fa-rectification of the universe. When I painted this, I drew three dragons at the front of the carriage, due to the size limitation of the picture. There are two dragons pulling the dragon carriage, so there are five dragons altogether. I drew master from a low perspective, looking up from below, to create an authoritative magnificence and brilliant splendour. Below the dragon carriage there are numerous gods, there are Buddhas, Gods and Taos. There are Asian gods, Caucasian gods and Black gods. Behind them are Buddhas, Taos and Gods playing music. Some are playing string instruments, some blowing bamboo flutes and there are some holding up pens high above their heads, which symbolises that they are writing articles and represents disciples within the three realms using literature, art, the mouth and the pen amongst many other ways to assist Master to rectify the Fa. Other divine deities have erect palms or lotus palms. The background is also layers upon layers of Buddhas, Taos and Gods from different colossal firmaments who came down together with Master. This piece of painting portrays the spectacle of Fa-rectification in other dimensions. It is correspondent to the human world in the Three Realms.

I designed a very big painting in my mind consisting of three parts. This is one of the three parts. The first part is the scene of the great battle between good and evil in the heavens. The one which I have completed is the middle part. The last part is the whole cosmos celebrating alike.
The skills employed in this painting are a combination of Western and Oriental. The Occidental water-colour is like a sister to Chinese painting, because their mediums are both water and they also use the same tool, a paintbrush. The paints are all water-soluble. The difference is that water-colour painting emphasises tone, beams of light, bulk and its fashion of expression is also Western, but the colours and tools it uses are very similar to Chinese paintings and they can be distinguished from one another. When painting this picture, because I have foundations for both of these kinds of paintings, I just naturally blended these two ways together. The skills are a fusion of both Chinese and Western. I used quite a lot of lines; there are some change in light and shade; I paid much attention to the change in tone, thus the nature can be displayed quite realistically. Expression through contrast in light and dark rays, cold and warm colours is the characteristic of Western water-colour painting, nevertheless Chinese painting talks about lines. Mixing in water-colour skills makes the picture more animated and enriched in colour.
