On New Year‘s Eve, practitioners from the Czech Republic gathered at the Chinese Embassy in Prague. Practitioners all over the world used the new year celebrations to hold appeals at their local Chinese embassies. The Prague practitioners lit candles to remember those who have had their lives taken because they believe in the principles of truthfulness, compassion and tolerance. They also celebrated the bravery of their many fellow practitioners in China who have refused to renounce their beliefs in the face of the most brutal and violent persecution.
The statue of St. Vaclav in Vaclavske Square in Prague often serves as a meeting point for many groups of tourists from all over the world. On New Year‘s Day, Czech practitioners placed display boards near the statue so that people could find out more about the persecution against Falun Gong in China.
Many tourists took pictures of the Dafa activity to take home and show their friends. People from different countries in Europe and Asia wanted to learn more about the persecution. After they got to know the truth from practitioners or from reading leaflets they showed their support by signing a petition calling for an end to the persecution.
