Solemn Declarations by Falun Dafa Practitioners

A "solemn declaration" is a person's public statement declaring to the world that whatever he or she has done or said under duress or deception that was against Falun Dafa is null and void. Most of these statements have come from Falun Dafa practitioners in China who wished to express regret that, in the face of physical torture and brainwashing, they had signed documents renouncing Dafa and guaranteeing not to practise again. Also, as more and more people in China learn the truth about how they have been deceived and lied to by the Jiang regime, many non-practitioners are also submitting "solemn declarations."

Solemn Declaration

Because I did not pay attention to cultivating my heart for a long time, I did not have sufficient enough understanding of Falun Dafa. I was arrested several times by the police. Under torture and the continuous attacks, lies, and evil enlightenment which catered to my attachments, I accepted the evil enlightenment and wrote the so called the "Three Statements" (1), causing losses to Falun Dafa. After several tribulations, I finally became sober, recognised the evil deceitful trick, and made up my mind to cultivate Falun Dafa. However when I was arrested by the police the last time, due to spending a long time in prison, I could not study Falun Dafa or do the exercises. Especially at the forced labour camp, the police told me that if I did not accept the brainwashing, I would be imprisoned indefinitely. I saw that some practitioners' release dates were repeatedly postponed, and that some were tortured to death. I was forced to undergo brainwashing each day. I was in a very bad mental state, and I could not eat. I thought that I should not die like this inside this place, and that I should leave this evil place. Because I had not gone through personal cultivation, and was confused by the superficial phenomena in this world, I again acknowledged the old forces' arrangement. Under the attachment to getting out of the labour camp, I wrote the "Three Statements" according to their request through a warped person's trick. I let down Teacher and Falun Dafa. The benevolent Teacher, however, helped me to pull myself back up. I will never again disappoint Teacher's offer of compassionate salvation. I will follow closely Teacher's Fa rectification progress. I will do more to make up for the losses I made to Falun Dafa. I now formally declare everything I have said and done against Falun Dafa under the brutal torture and brainwashing to be null and void. I am determined to cultivate Falun Dafa to the end.

Solemn Declaration

I started practising Falun Dafa in autumn of 1996 when I went with my parents to a Falun Dafa experience sharing conference. Through practising Falun Dafa, my body and mind improved a lot. Thus, I was actively studying and spreading Falun Dafa. But because of my shallow understanding of Dafa, I was not studying Dafa's principles based on rationality. Under the evil persecution and lies which were started on July 20 1999, and under the evil's brainwashing, I doubted Teacher and my firm belief in my cultivation path was shaken. I wrote a "Guarantee Statement" (2) and a "Repentance Statement" (3). I affected other practitioners' righteous thoughts in the local area, and played a very bad role. Under the old forces' persecution, I did not negate their arrangements with righteous thoughts. I could not follow Teacher's Fa-rectification progress. In those years, several times I wanted to come back, but was always afraid that Teacher would not accept me. My human notions were hindering me continuously. However, when I knew that my merciful great Teacher was actually always waiting for me to come to understand, my true nature emerged. I am again walking on the journey of returning to the original true self. I now formally declare all those statements against Teacher and Falun Dafa, which were made under severe pressure, to be null and void. I will redouble my efforts to compensate for the damage I have caused, and I will do better than before. I will do well the three things that Falun Dafa practitioners should do, and strive to become a qualified Falun Dafa practitioner in the Fa rectification period.

Notes:

(1) "Three Statements" - Practitioners are coerced under brainwashing and torture to write these as proof that they have given up their belief. Created by the 610 Office the Three Statements consist of a letter of repentance, a guarantee to never again practise Falun Gong, and a list of names and addresses of all family members, friends and acquaintances who are practitioners.

(2) Guarantee Statement- A statement to declare that he or she is remorseful for practising Falun Gong and guarantees not to practise Falun Gong again, not to go to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong, and never again associate with any Falun Dafa practitioners.

(3) Repentance - In this statement the practitioner is forced to admit remorse for practising Falun Gong, promise to give up Falun Gong, and never again associate with other practitioners or go to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong.
