The Amazing Experience of a Chinese American Starting to Practise Falun Gong in China

I am a gynaecologist and in 1996 I started practising Falun Gong. A few years ago, I started to talk about Falun Gong and the human rights violation taking place against those who practise Falun Gong to my patients at work and found it very effective. I would like to relate an account of how a Chinese American got to know about Falun Gong.

On the 12th of October in 2004, a Chinese American came to our hospital. She had multiple fibroid tumours, complications from swollen ovaries, irregular cell growth on the cervix, and other conditions. She told me that she had visited many medical experts at several famous hospitals in Beijing, and they suggested she have an operation to prevent cancer. In addition, her stomach was so swollen that she looked six months pregnant. Her stomach felt empty and painful. She could not sleep or work properly. She suffered tremendous pain and was afraid to have an operation. She looked very pale and in pain.

I studied her medical records sent from the Beijing hospitals, and I gave her another physical exam. My conclusions were the same. Given her prognosis, she needed an operation. I comforted her and told her my plan for her treatment. Then I started to talk to her about Falun Gong and told her the miraculous healing effects of Falun Dafa. She listened very attentively and readily accepted the facts about Falun Dafa. After listening to "Jishi," some music that I had lent her, she felt that she had heard this music somewhere before. She then told me of a sudden memory: Before the Chinese New Year of 2004, she had a severe cold from which she suffered for a long time. When she was burning coil incense and praying in front of a Bodhisattva statue, a beautiful scene appeared before her eyes. She saw her parents in Heaven and heard music that she had not heard for a long time. Her mother asked her to go back to the human world to carry out her historical duty. Afterwards, she began to recover from her "severe cold." She told me, "What I heard today is the same as what I heard then."

That evening, I brought a copy of Zhuan Falun to her (Zhuan Falun comprises the core teachings in Falun Gong). After she saw the Law Wheel on the book cover she said, "I have seen this before." When she saw Teacher's portrait, she said she had seen that before as well. She told me that when she was listening to the Falun Dafa music at noontime, she felt tired. Whilst she was half awake, she saw the founder of Falun Gong, Teacher Li Hongzhi, in the air sitting on a huge lotus platform in a yellow Buddha's robe, emitting golden shining light with ten layers of different colours. Layer upon layer of light rings around a column of light shined in all directions. There were many Buddhas and disciples behind Teacher. Every disciple had a Law Wheel behind him or her. There were also Law Wheel's in the air. Some of the Law Wheel's were as big as a house while others were as small as snowflakes. All of them were rotating, and scene was beautiful beyond description.

The next day, she read Zhuan Falun in her bed because she was not feeling well. In the beginning, she felt a lot of pain in her stomach. After she finished reading the first lecture, she felt better. She felt tired and fell asleep. She saw Teacher in her dream. Teacher was in the air and there was a wide river in between. Teacher was on the other side of the big river and there were also many disciples on the other side. She was standing alone at the side of the river. She thought that she also wanted to be on the other side of the river. Teacher then held her up and gently threw her over to the other side of the river. She tripped a little and woke up. Then she felt somebody was ridding her of her illnesses. She heard someone saying, "Good riddance!" She did not know if this was real or in the dream, so she pinched herself and felt the pain, which proved that it was not a dream.

On the morning of the third day, she came to my office and told me what she had experienced. The physical exam surprised me: the small, bean-sized growth was gone; her ovaries were no longer swollen; the empty, the swollen feeling in her stomach had disappeared; and the swollen fibroid tumour had shrunk, with only a needle-sized hole left behind. There was a little blood on it, almost as if a size-12 needle had been used to aspirate the fluid, leaving only a little scar behind. In order to verify these findings, we did a B-supersonic test. The results showed a normal uterus, two normal ovaries, and a normal stomach.

This was a miracle! Medically, this kind of condition requires certain surgery. But it resolved itself after the patient practised Falun Dafa for just three days. She cried with excitement, "Thank you, Teacher!" She regretted that she had come across Falun Dafa so late in her life. She said that she would make time in her life to let more people know about Falun Gong and the persecution.

I told other members of our hospital's medical staff this story. They all said it was a miracle and were surprised. A few of my colleagues eagerly asked me to teach them Falun Gong.
