On January 15th 2005, Falun Gong practitioners from various European countries gathered in Whitehall, home of the British Prime Minister, to begin a parade through central London. The parade was divided into three sections. The first section depicted the worldwide spreading of Falun Gong, the second section exposed the persecution in China and the third was about the worldwide actions to bring the instigator of the persecution against Falun Gong, former Chinese leader Jiang Zemin, and his accomplices to justice.
The following photos were taken from the second section, the persecution occurring in China. The ladies dressed all in white are carrying wreaths commemorating the practitioners whose lives were taken in this persecution; later photos show the re-enactments of torture methods used to force Falun Gong practitioners to give up their beliefs. Many of the 1,290 documented deaths in this persecution are from torture. The death toll cited by Chinese Government sources is thought to be closer to 10,000 but the tight information blockade makes it difficult to get the news of these deaths outside of China.
