On February 6, 2005, a New Year's Celebration event sponsored by Vietnamese Americans was held in the Reliant Arena in Houston, a popular activity centre with a capacity of then-thousand people. It was the largest New Year celebration of Asian Americans in Houston.
Falun Gong practitioners' introduction booth attracted a lot of attention among a variety of programs, including traditional music, a lion dance, sports and booths of various different groups.

The Falun Gong booth was a haven of peace in the bustling, noisy arena. A banner reading "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance" in English, Chinese and Vietnamese attracted a lot of attention. Display boards showed both pictures and illustrations. Information fliers and VCDs in Vietnamese, Chinese and English were available at the booth. Many people took this opportunity to learn more about Falun Gong and make enquiries about where to learn the practice.
A Falun Gong practitioner said, "I am Vietnamese. I know about the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners in China. We are stepping forward to tell Chinese Vietnamese about it because we are also Falun Gong practitioners."
Some people wanted to learn Falun Gong right away and took materials from the booth. A Falun Gong practitioner said, "It is a great thing they will get from this celebration if they learn about Falun Dafa -- Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance."
