On January 7, Falun Gong practitioners in Houston held an "Anti-Torture Exhibition" on the lawn of the University of Houston, exposing the brutal persecution taking place in China. Before the exhibition started, at 11 a.m., it began to rain heavily. After a quick discussion, the practitioners decided to continue with the exhibition.
As it was a Monday; some practitioners took the day off of work to participate in the event. Some families with small children arranged for daycare so they could come. A whole family, Mr. and Mrs. Lin, and his daughter and son-in-law also participated in the activity. Mr. Lin said, "We understand the importance of Fa-promotion, so we chose a Monday because there are more students on campus then. They will all have the opportunity to see the Anti-Torture Exhibition. Especially because there are a lot of international students at the University of Houston, we need to let them know the truth of Dafa and the persecution. We hope that they will bring the truth back to their home countries, and spread the information in their countries. Even though it is raining today, the weather won't stop us."
It was raining the whole time, but the information display, anti-torture exhibition and the exercise demonstrations attracted a lot of students. People stopped to watch and asked, "What's happened in China?" "Why is such a good exercise being persecuted in China?" When the wind blew down the display boards, the students immediately put them back up and continued to read. The students talked to practitioners for a long time. They learned that Falun Gong practitioners are being persecuted in China and are experiencing many inhuman tortures. The anti-torture exhibition moved their hearts. Many students were moved by the Falun Gong practitioners' uncompromising belief and some said they wanted to learn the exercises.
The information materials were handed out fast. Many students came in groups and everyone took a flier. To meet the demand, one practitioner drove back home to bring more materials to hand out.
The anti-torture exhibition let more people learn the truth about Falun Gong, and raised awareness in order for people to work together to stop the persecution in China.
