As the Lantern Festival approached and many places in Taiwan were planning celebrations, a cold front arrived in Taiwan. The temperature dropped 20 degrees Celsius (36 degrees Fahrenheit) and the warmth of the Chinese New Year was wiped away. In order to expose the Chinese Communist Party's brutal persecution of Falun Gong, Taichung Falun Gong practitioners withstood the difficulty of the cold weather and rain, and held an anti-torture exhibition on February 20 in Fengyuan Huludun Park. Visitors were moved by the practitioners' endeavour and eagerly signed their names on the petition to support Falun Gong.

A Falun Gong practitioner at the activity said that people living in the free world could hardly image that a person could be persecuted and inhumanly tortured only because they have a certain belief. In over five-years of rampant persecution, the Chinese Communist Party has persecuted more than 1,300 Falun Gong practitioners to death. These are only the cases that have been reported and confirmed by different sources. Numerous practitioners were injured or have become disabled, and thousands of families have been separated. The practitioner said the purpose of the anti-torture exhibition was to help let the world know the truth of the persecution that is being covered up by the Chinese Communist Party. From this, people can recognise the evil nature of the Communist Party from its trampling of human rights and killing of innocent people. However, the forces of justice throughout the world shall combine and stop this most brutal and unjust persecution.
Besides the practitioners who re-enacted the tortures used against practitioners in China, many Falun Gong practitioners wearing raincoats held up the display boards in the rain, demonstrated the exercises, and performed on waist-drums. Vehicles passing by reduced their speed and opened their windows to accept truth-clarification fliers. Miss Wu, who viewed the anti-torture exhibition, said that she could hardly believe there were such cruel tortures in this modern world. She said that all the people shall stand up against the persecution. Another visitor, Mr. Guo said, "You shall let the world know this; motivate the forces of justice to end the persecution as soon as possible."
Many practitioners made paper lotus flowers and gave them out to visitors. They said that they were living in Taiwan and could practise Falun Gong freely. But the practitioners across the strait are being persecuted unmercifully. They felt concern and sadness for them and were willing to sacrifice their holiday to participate in this activity. The practitioners hope that the Taiwanese people will always treasure the liberty they have and also show their concern for the human rights of the Mainland China Falun Gong practitioners.
