Former County Level Cadre: A Gradual Change in My Thinking Led Me to Quit the Chinese Communist Party

I was born in 1963. Since childhood I had been obedient and willing to follow instructions from adults. In 1985 I attined my first job, and I brought my "obedient" personality to my work unit. I did whatever my supervisors told me to do, and seldom scrutinized whether it was right or wrong. In addition, because since childhood I lived in the odd environment of the "Party culture," I received the deceptive Chinese Communist Party (CCP)'s education, which was replete with slogans such as "Without the CCP, there's no new China," "The goal of the CCP is to wholeheartedly serve the people," etc. I really believed such propaganda. Even the evil principles of "revolution by means of violence" and "struggle ideology" didn't cause me to resist them. Therefore, when I joined the Party in 1990, I indeed felt proud of myself. I thought I had become a member of an elite organization which served the people whole-heartedly.

It was precisely because I was obedient that some of the leaders in my work unit thought highly of me. Two years after I started work, I was appointed to a position taking charge of the so-called "education of political ideology" and "management of cadres." I therefore became a full-time member of the CCP administration. Not only was I deluded by it, I also devotedly educated other people, and filled them with the CCP's evil principles. The CCP was very satisfied with what I did for them and with my attitude at work. Thus I was continuously promoted. In the short 13 years at work, I held positions of a secretary in charge of propaganda, a responsible person in the Youth League committee, and deputy director and later director of the political executive department. At one time, I was a secretary general of the CCP committee of a town.

In 1998, I was 35 years old. I was promoted to the position of county level cadre by the CCP Committee and Political and Judiciary Committee of Weifang City. Although it was not a high level position, among the several thousand people working in the city government building at that time, only a few people under 35 years old held positions as county level cadres. I was indeed the target of people's jealousy when I obtained that position.

The vested personal interest, to a certain extent further strengthened my recognition of the CCP's deceit and lies. I was thus hooked to the "fishing rod" even more tightly. I lament the death of my older sister who starved to death when she was only three years old during the "three-year famine." That catastrophe was caused by the CCP. The ugly and debased history of the CCP, including "the Cultural Revolution," "a Great Leap Forward" and "the June 4th Massacre" made me feel extremely sad. Although I felt disgusted upon seeing the corruption penetrating from top to bottom amongst CCP officials, I still had a naïve thought that "all these were individual acts" or "mistakes the Party had committed at a certain historical stage," and that they did not represent the CCP in its entirety, nor did they represent the fundamental nature of the CCP. I still believed that the "Great, Honorable and Correct" Party (these three adjectives are often used by CCP to empower itself.) was good in nature and its goal was to serve the people. I heard many people say, "The CCP's goal is to serve itself." No matter how bad and corrupt it is, I was reluctant to believe what they said. Moreover, sometimes I even tried to educate and persuade those who criticized the CCP.

My experiences and the things that happened around me during the past several years have completely torn down the walls of deceit which had tightly blocked me from seeing the truth. The CCP utterly unveiled its real nature before my eyes - a rogue nature, characterized by ferocity, horror and cruelty. My way of thinking has undergone a fundamental change, to the core.

In 1995 I unexpectedly found myself suffering from an incurable disease, a composite syndrome of liver and kidneys. When no medical treatment was able to improve my health, I started to practice Falun Gong. A short one month later I had recovered! Not only did I improve my physical health, but my realm of mind had also improved. I was doing a much better job at work, and I no longer accepted bribes presented to me as gifts. I even used my own pocket money to help five poor students to continue their studies. Under my influence, some of my family members also started to practice Falun Gong, and they also benefited greatly from Dafa cultivation. My almost 70-year-old mother, who was bedridden for 30 years as a result of a severe disease, not only recovered from the disease, but she was able to perform physical labor like a young person after she started to practice Falun Gong. The most miraculous case was my father's experience. In 1994, he was found to be at the terminal stages of lung cancer. In 1995, when he was at the brink of death he started to practice Falun Gong. As of today, he is still alive and is very healthy.

I was very optimistic at that time. I thought to myself, being such a good practice, the CCP would proactively disseminate Falun Gong, because there were 100 million Falun Gong practitioners in China who all benefited from this practice, both spiritually and physically.

It was not until after April 25, 1999 that I found out I was wrong.

Jiang roared, "Annihilate all factors that are causing social instability when they are still at the sprouting stage." Thus, no matter whether these factors are righteous or evil, right or wrong, as long as the CCP leaders think they could potentially affect their political status and political power, they would kill them on the spot, without giving them a chance to defend themselves. Falun Gong, a practice that teaches people to follow "Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance," and has benefited one hundred million people and won people's hearts became the persecution target. They indeed attempted to put Falun Gong to death. What they were trying to do would harm the personal interest of millions of people! But they still waged this suppression.

In total shock, I saw clearly that the so-called "whole-heartedly serving the people" slogan was sheer disguise and camouflage. There is an old Chinese saying, "A favor, like a drop of water, should be returned with a gushing spring." Falun Gong saved my parents and me. How could I betray Falun Gong and our Master, when I knew clearly that the propaganda was actually a frame-up against them by Chinese authorities.

With good wishes for our country and for Falun Gong, I went to Beijing five times to appeal for Falun Gong. My only purpose was to report a few words of truth to the government, hoping the leaders would come to understand the real situation, which is that Falun Gong is absolutely beneficial and does absolutely no harm to our country or the people. I petitioned that they should end this groundless persecution.

Cruel reality shattered my kind wishes, again and again. Not only did they refuse to listen to me, they did not follow any rule of law. I was arrested, detained numerous times and savagely tortured. Since July 1999, I was detained six times, and twice abducted to a forced labor camp, where I was detained for seven months. I was sent to a police station twice, and detained in an office by the Political and Judiciary Committee in Weifang City for six days and nights. My office and my house were searched and police extorted over 12,000 yuan (Chinese currency; 500 yuan is equal to the average monthly income of an urban worker in China.
) from me.

I left home to avoid the persecution. I am currently in my fourth year of homelessness. Even so, the CCP did not let go of me. The perpetrators went to my house to harass my family over ten times. Two weeks ago, on Chinese New Year's Eve, they went to my house in an attempt to arrest me.

When I looked back to examine what I have been doing, I found that I was simply holding onto telling the truth, to be responsible to my own conscience.

In the past five years, every time the CCP persecuted me, my comprehension of its evildoing nature became more clear. In my memory are several snapshots that helped to dramatically change my way of thinking.

Snapshot one: In June 1999, immediately after the CCTV reported, "The government does not object to people's practice of Qigong," the deputy secretary of the Political and Judiciary Committee in Weifang City came to request an individual meeting with me for a second time. He continued to coerce me to give up my practice of Falun Gong. I asked him, "In the TV report last night, didn't the reporter say the government allows us to practice?" The deputy secretary sneered and said, "What is reported on TV is to be shown to foreigners. For people inside China, whatever punishment we should take against them, we'll do it. Historically, the CCP manifests two different faces and reports in a certain way while taking certain measures on the sly. How come you don't understand this?" What a full exposure of the CCP's hypocritical nature!

Snapshot two: In July 1999, when a deputy secretary of the Political and Judiciary Committee could not force me to give up my cultivation after dozens of individual meetings, he shouted at me, "Do not consider what is right and what is wrong, what is good and what is evil. Just take whatever the CCP says." "The battle between the CCP and Falun Gong is a life-and-death battle." "To deal with Falun Gong, we are bound to crack down on it without mercy. If you do not quit Falun Gong practice, we'll ruin your reputation and utterly discredit you." What a thorough exposure of CCP's cruel nature!

Snapshot three: In early December 2000, not long after I was sent to the Changle Forced Labor Camp in Weifang City, police in the Second Division threatened me in an attempt to "reform" me. I refused to be reformed. The police sneered at me, "Go ahead and keep being stubborn for now. In a few days you won't dare to be stubborn. By then, not only will you be reformed; you will cry bitterly and thank the labor camp and the CCP for saving you by sending you to the camp." What a complete exposure of CCP's rogue nature.

Snapshot Four: In late December 2000, guards at the Changle Forced Labor Camp subjected me to various torture methods including the tiger bench in an attempt to reform me. The most frequently used torture method was stripping off my clothes and forcibly carrying me to the restroom, where they dunked my head into the sink to squirt water on me. Oftentimes, several people grabbed me and directed a water nozzle toward my mouth and nose for a long time. I have endured such inhumane torture ten times. One night, more than ten people squirted water into me and I passed out. When I gradually came to, I heard someone telling others at the door, "Be sure not to leave any (visible) injury or scars on his body."

What he said utterly awakened me! They were beasts who would kill people without blinking an eye. In order to eliminate dissidents they would stop at nothing. If I were tortured to death, they would deceive others, saying that I died from heart disease. Or they could throw me from the top of a building and concoct a story, such as "the Falun Gong practitioner incurred cultivation insanity and committed suicide." Even a legal medical expert would follow their orders to prepare such a report. They are all tools of the same dictatorial regime.

I'd like to put it this way: I accumulated my understanding of the evil nature of the CCP quantitatively, from the persecutions I personally suffered. However, this time there was a qualitative change in my understanding of CCP's evil and cruel nature.

I feel ashamed for having joined the CCP. I feel ashamed for having been a full-time "CCP administrative personnel!" Although the CCP annulled my CCP membership in 2000, it was not I who took the initiative to quit the CCP.

Today, I solemnly announce to the whole world:

I resolutely quit this evil cult organization, the Chinese Communist Party! I solidly quit all CCP affiliated organizations that I had joined! All my previous statements that had served to empower the CCP are null and void! I will live as a noble, pure and dignified person, a good person!
