People in La Reunion are very fond of Falun Gong. La Reunion is an island city in the Indian Ocean, a protectorate of France. As early as one year ago, they discovered this traditional ancient practice which physically and psychologically bring them benefits. Local Falun Gong practitioners have started to introduce people to the details of the cruel persecution of Falun Gong practitioners in China.
Local Falun Gong practitioners have started to introduce people to the details of the cruel persecution of Falun Gong practitioners in China. To encourage people in La Reunion to understand the serious trampling on human rights and the abuse of Falun Gong practitioners in the People’s Republic of China, practitioners organised activities many times and placed the facts display posters in various places on the island. Local-elected representatives also came to read these posters and learned to understand the facts of the persecution.
This island is the most economically prosperous among of all France’s protectorates overseas. It maintains a special relationship with Tianjin, one of the most important harbour cities in China. Two cruel and notorious labour camps, however, are hidden over there, the Banqiao girls’ labour camp and the Shuang Kou males’ labour camp.
Similar to other old colonies, people in La Reunion know about and have experienced slavery and all kinds of brutal, cruel, abuse and punishments. Today, however, we can still find them in China.
People nowadays in La Reunion, however, already made the transition from a slavery system to one in which people tolerate and respect one another. In fact, here in this small island various kinds of ethnic groups live together. We can see Europeans, Africans, Indians, and Chinese people live shoulder to shoulder with their own belief and their own world views. All these are respected to the greatest degree. Everyone is free to have their own belief, with no conflicts.
As a matter of fact, people in La Reunion are very nice. They are against the persecution of Falun Gong in China. A great amount of people signed the petition forms to denounce brutal methods in such a great country in the 20th century.
