Argentina: Introducing Falun Dafa in Cordoba Province

We are pleased to let everyone know about the positive experiences we've been having lately here in Cordoba Province, Argentina. On the weekend of February 19, we introduced Falun Dafa and Zhuan Falun [the main text of Falun Dafa] across the province. We gave a presentation in Villa Gral. Belgrano (a small town), and in Rio Tercero (an important city).

While preparing for the activities we have learned a lot from each other. We have been able to reveal and eliminate harmful attachments and prejudices and to put Falun Dafa above all else. We have discovered gaps that irritated and have been causing rifts for a long time in the community of cultivators in Argentina. A few tears were shed as it was humbly accepted that we should be transparent, share in cultivation, measure ourselves according to the principles of Falun Dafa and be united as one body, to work in concert. I think we have been able to do things much better; the results have been so positive on many levels and we thank Teacher for this experience!

To promote the presentation of Zhuan Falun, we went to a few towns to introduce Falun Dafa and to talk to the media. In Santa Rosa (an important town in the area) we had a television interview in which we discussed the practise and the persecution, and demonstrated the exercises. Many people saw the program and were very interested. We also had a very positive telephone interview with a popular radio station. We then travelled to the city of Rio Tercero, where we were to present Falun Dafa on February 23. The Cultural Events Secretary warmly received us and prepared some media to interview us.

On the 20th, we went to a nearby city with a rich cultural heritage. The city is called Alta Gracia, which is translated as "High Grace." The Cultural Events secretary was very kind to us and offered us a space to put up our stand at the Handicraft Fair. He also offered a space for us to present Zhuan Falun in the near future. We did exercise demonstrations and many people came to watch and to read our introductory materials. We were surprised at how interested people were, especially youngsters. They were very moved and were very concerned about the violations of human rights in China. Everybody wanted us to come back to form a practise site there! Little children started to surround a practitioner to learn the exercises; they were happy, interested and could concentrate very well. A 4-year-old child was especially interested in Falun Dafa and his family begged us to come back to teach him. He had been abandoned by his parents when he was a baby because he had a terminal disease, and his adoptive family felt hope in Falun Dafa. We will return soon, as there were so many predestined people there!

February 22: Presenting Zhuan Falun in Villa Gral. Belgrano

This town has a rich cultural history and there are many tourists. The Town Council has been very kind to us. The Press Secretary promoted the presentation to different media in the region, who replied to us quickly. The Cultural Events Secretary provided us with a beautiful hall. We decorated the hall photographs and beautiful silk lotus flowers made by a practitioner. A few more practitioners came from Cordoba to support our activity, and a practitioner's mother also offered her great support.

We were very surprised that there were almost 60 people at our presentation and we ran out of chairs! The interest and seriousness of the public made it easy for us to give our presentation. The talk lasted two hours and only three people had to leave before it was over. A strong point was that the talk was smooth and pleasant and people participated throughout. This is something important we should pay attention to: we should not fall into a formality that resembles that of preaching. We should remember that we are sharing the practise and we are not giving a lecture to promote ourselves! We share Falun Dafa with people and invite them to share and reflect in this greatness we've found. Many of the people in the public had a high level of understanding and participated with very interesting questions. They could all understand how evil and unfair the persecution of Falun Dafa is. There were many tourists among the public, mainly from Buenos Aires. Most of the people stayed to chat with us and took both Zhuan Falun and Falun Gong [the introductory text of Falun Dafa, suitable for beginners] with them. The response of the public was very positive and they left with a smile.

People were very open and people learned about Falun Dafa by word of mouth. Since then, the phone has kept ringing with people interested in learning the exercises. On the day following the talk, even though it was raining terribly, a group of people that participated in the talk came to the practise site, and continued to come. They all had a deep interest in Dafa. We got together with a few of them to read Zhuan Falun, and it was a very positive experience.

February 23: Presenting Zhuan Falun in Rio Tercero

We travelled to this city on a rainy afternoon, reading one of Teacher's lectures on the way. The hall that was given for the presentation was enormous! We prepared the hall and some of us went into town to invite the people. Only three people came to the presentation, which they had heard about on the radio. We thus made it more informal, so that it was more of a chat with them. Then another three youngsters came and sat at the far end of the hall. We first thought that they only came to have fun, but they ended up doing the exercises with us and showed a surprising interest. It was a beautiful experience.

In each of the presentations, we gave everybody a copy of Lunyu [an article written by Li Honghzi, which can be found at the beginning of Zhuan Falun] and an explanation of the Falun Emblem.
