On the morning of April 25, 2005, Falun Gong practitioners in Seoul, Korea held a press conference in front of the Chinese Embassy to commemorate the 6th anniversary of the "April 25" Appeal in Beijing.

In the press conference, a practitioner recounted the appeal of six years ago in which more than ten thousand Falun Gong practitioners gathered in Beijing. The Chinese premier addressed the practitioners' concerns in a reasonable and positive manner and the appeal ended the same day. A few months later, however, Jiang Zemin, the former head of the Chinese Communist Party, initiated a brutal persecution of Falun Gong in China. So far, at least 1,890 practitioners have been tortured to death and tens of thousands have been unlawfully imprisoned.
With the attention of the international media currently focused on Falun Gong practitioners, and facing the resignation of more than one million people from the Chinese Communist Party, the Chinese Communist regime recently initiated a nationwide round of arrests of Falun Gong practitioners. The number of arrests is of a magnitude not seen since the persecution started on July 20, 1999.
All practitioners in Korea solemnly urge the Chinese regime to stop the persecution of Falun Gong, bring the culprits to justice and release all unlawfully imprisoned practitioners.
Many media outlets were on-site to cover the Seoul event.
