Dafa Practitioner Tortured to Death at Maojiashan Women's Labour

Xue Zhen, a 68-year-old woman, was a former employee of the Freezer Plant in Chongqing City. [We have just found out that] she was tortured to death at the Maojiashan Women's Labour Camp in September 2001.

Xue Zhen started to practise Falun Gong in 1996. After July 20th, 1999, she twice went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong. Each time she was taken back by the security people from her workplace. Later she was illegally sentenced to 3 years of forced labour education. While she was in detention, her husband who was ill died due to the lack of care, although this wasn't found out until several days later when their relatives visited their home.
The head of the Freezer Plant once told Xue Zhen, "As soon as you write a guarantee letter saying you will stop practising, we'll release you, and you can go back home to take care of your husband." But she refused.

People who had visited Xue Zhen in the labour camp said almost all of her teeth fell out [due to the torture].

In the past several months, the number of Dafa practitioners who died from torture has been soaring. Starting January 11, 2002, thousands of practitioners and supporters held 3-day candlelight vigils in over 30 cities around the globe, protesting the mass arrest and brutal torture of Dafa practitioners by the Chinese government, as well as disclosing the list of those criminals who have committed crimes against Dafa practitioners.

According to insiders from the Chinese government, the actual death toll of Falun Gong practitioners exceeded 1,600 by the end of last year. More and more practitioners who had once renounced Falun Gong started to practice again. The support for Falun Gong overseas is becoming stronger and stronger. The Jiang regime has planned to escalate the suppression of Falun Gong early this year.

Observers say that Jiang's persecution of Falun Gong using bloody violence, false propaganda, and forced brainwashing is very likely to end up in vain, just as it has been a complete failure in the past two and a half years. In this battle where he cannot find an enemy, Jiang will surely be defeated.
