On June 14th 2005, Falun Gong practitioners from Sweden, Norway, Germany, Ukraine, Latvia, Russia, Spain, Italy and Taiwan attended an anti-torture exhibition held by Finnish practitioners in the central park of Helsinki. Most of the practitioners came directly from the European Falun Dafa Experience Sharing Conference that was held in Stockholm, Sweden on the 12th of June.
When passers-by saw the re-enactments and listened to a practitioner talking about the cruel torture methods used in attempts to force Falun Gong practitioners renounce their beliefs, they were shocked at the human rights violations happening in China. Practitioners had also made a comprehensive
poster exhibition about the torture methods used in the labour camps, prisons and detention centres in China. Many people immediately decided to sign a petition calling for an end to the persecution.
Information and leaflets were given out in different languages, as Helsinki is filled with tourists from around the world during the summer. The anti-torture exhibition especially gave people from Mainland China the chance to see trough the lies fabricated up by the Chinese Communist Party, which has been covering up its cruel persecutions of the Chinese people.
