The 16th Teddy Picnic Festival took place in the Vancouver suburb of Coquitlam, B.C. on June 12th, 2005. The parade commenced at 10:00 am.
Jubilant spectators lining the streets warmly applauded the parading groups. There were a total of 65 groups participating this year. The organiser said this year's parade was more remarkable and exciting than last year. After the procession reached its destination, the gold award was presented to the Falun Gong contingent.
Falun Gong also participated in the Burnaby Parade and the New Westminster's Hyack Festival Parade. The beauty of traditional Chinese culture that Falun Dafa embodies was warmly welcomed by these communities.
After persistent efforts to talk about Falun Gong to government officials, Burnaby's government and city council have a better understanding of Falun Gong. In the past three years, Burnaby has proclaimed Falun Dafa Weeks and Falun Dafa Month in May.
In the New Westminster's Hyack Festival parade, Falun Gong also won the highest prize: the President's Prize.
