For a Higher Truth: A Photographic Tale of Falun Dafa’s Principled Resistance” - Part 1

This photograph was taken prior to when the persecution of Falun Gong officially started in China on July 20th of 1999, during a large group practise of the Falun Gong exercises. On this day the participating Falun Gong practitioners stood in formations to form the giant Chinese characters of, “Falun Dafa” (or Falun Gong.) The grand, spectacular scene illustrated the rapid growth of the number of Falun Gong practitioners since Falun Gong was introduced to the public in 1992.

One can see the triangular composition of this photograph by diagonally connecting the top left corner with the bottom right corner. This creates a very spacious visual effect. The diagonal horizon and the tilted blue sky remind the audience that the earth is a globe. It also implies that there will be Falun Gong practitioners all over the world, which is indeed true today. The colour combination is very striking and expresses the grandeur and beauty of Falun Gong.
