On the morning of July 4th, 2005, Falun Gong practitioners from the New York Metropolitan and Washington DC areas participated for the fourth time in the Independence Day Parade held on Constitution Avenue in the capital city of the USA. They displayed the wonder of Falun Dafa to local people and visitors, and were well-received.
The weather was fine and the temperature was agreeable. It is estimated that more than 500,000 people were present for the series of celebration activities, including the Independence Day Parade.
Over the past several years, through Falun Gong practitioners' persistent efforts to expose the persecution, many American people have learned about the facts of Falun Gong to differing extents. A middle-aged western man saw Falun Gong practitioners in the parade and said to the writer, "They (refer to practitioners) are good people."
The Falun Gong practitioners' contingent was composed of a float with practitioners demonstrating the exercises, a celestial maidens group, waist-drummers and a flag group.
