Israeli Practitioners: “Dear Chinese people, when will your kind side awake?”

After hearing the news that 20 Falun Dafa practitioners have been murdered in China in 22 days, Israeli practitioners decided to hold a three-day candle light vigils in front of the Chinese embassy in China, to clarify the truth about the persecution.

Despite the rainy weather on all three days, many practitioners participated in the activity.
On the first day, Israeli national TV broadcasted the news of the candle light vigil twice in the morning. Another TV programme interviewed two practitioners, including Zion Xiong, whose sister has been arrested in Beijing for clarifying the truth about Falun Dafa.

The TV programs presented Falun Dafa in a very positive way.

The same evening, when practitioners came to the Chinese Embassy, a cable TV station came and interviewed the practitioners. The interview was broadcast two hours later.
On the second day, a lady “accidentally” passed by and told the practitioners that at 9 PM there would be an opening ceremony of “Chinese Movie Week” at the Tel Aviv Cinema, as part of the activities honouring the tenth year of diplomacy between China and Israel. Once we learned that the Chinese ambassador would attend the ceremony, several practitioners decided to go to the cinema to clarify the truth about Falun Dafa.

Practitioners arrived with signboards, banners and flyers. Almost all of the Israelis that came to the theatre gladly accepted our flyers, but none except two staff member from the Chinese Embassy took the flyers. One embassy worker even verbally abused one of the practitioners, while the practitioner was having a conversation with the spokesperson of a major media organisation. The spokesperson was shocked by the insulting behaviour of the embassy staff.

The police came to both the embassy and the cinema, due to repeated complaints from someone saying Falun Dafa practitioners were “disturbing public order”. After the practitioners patiently explained the situation with compassion, the police reassured us that we could stay where we were without any problems.

After the film started, the owner of the restaurant who did the catering for the event brought a plate full of food out to the practitioners.

By the time the film was about to finish, a few practitioners came again to the entrance to the theatre. Despite the rain, practitioners put lit candles into cardboard boxes laid on the side to keep the candles from going out. When the audience came out of the theatre, many were touched by the fact that the practitioners were standing in the rain. Many came over to ask what we were doing and learned the truth about Falun Dafa.

When the ambassador came out, one Chinese practitioner said “hello” in Chinese, but the ambassador didn’t respond. A lady walking with the ambassador said “hello” in return.

On the third day, it rained harder than the two previous days. It didn’t, however, affect the practitioners’ determination. They held signs and banners, practiced the five exercises and did the righteous thoughts meditation. From a window of the embassy’s building, we could see that people inside were playing billiards.

In our hearts we wondered, “Dear Chinese people, when will your kind side awake?”
