On the first Sunday of September every year, Sachsen Day is celebrated in different cities in a grand manner; the number of participants may be as many as several thousand people. Participants included more than a hundred associations and groups, as well as the major media from various places in Germany. The Falun Gong Association was also invited. On September 3rd and 4th, Falun Gong practitioners from various places in Germany gathered in Weisswasser to introduce people to the principles of Falun Gong and expose the persecution taking place in China.

To perform waist-drumming and dancing, Falun Gong practitioners went on to the stage four times and provided a forty-five minute programme, including the demonstration of and an introduction to the Falun Gong exercises. During the interval when distributing leaflets, practitioners met and had a short conversation with the local city Mayor and the Minister with responsibility for Sachsen.

At our information stand, people were surprised to hear about the cruel persecution of Falun Gong practitioners in China. Others paused to watch Falun Gong practitioners performing the fifth Falun Gong exercise, a peaceful meditation. A great number of people expressed an interest to learn Falun Gong, and some signed their names on the petition form to ask for the immediate release of Jiang Renzheng, a practitioner who was deported from China and is now illegally imprisoned in a forced labour camp..
On September 4th, about three cars and nearly six thousand people participated in the grand parade. The Falun Gong practitioners’ beautifully festooned vehicle, the passionate waist-drummers, beautiful dancing and the dignified and joyous large flags attracted viewers enthusiastic applause as they asked for Falun Gong material one after another.

| The World Needs Truthfulness, Compassion and Tolerance | ||
During the two-day activity, everyone worked together in coordination with each other. Some practitioners made nothing of the hardship of coming from long distances away. Though there were insufficient numbers to help with the activities the preparation and the overall outcome was good. Because the Falun Gong practitioners were placed near the back of the parade, they missed the opportunity of being included in the two-hour live TV transmission, which is a lesson to us for future improvement and better organisation.
