Germany: Falun Gong Practitioners Urge the Chinese Government to Release Jiang Renzheng Immediately

Since Jiang Zemin and his political group initiated the persecution of Falun Gong on July 20th 1999, their persecution has been carried out abroad via all the PRC’s overseas Embassies and Consulates. They have tried their best to engage in rumour-mongering and to slander Falun Gong. With various strategies, they have pushed government officials to oppose Falun Gong. They have spent huge amount of capital to dispatch a great number of secret agents and spies abroad. They also bribed, threatened and lured with rewards some overseas Chinese to probe into the various situations of Falun Gong practitioners abroad, in order to create interferences and persecute them.

Jiang Renzheng and Kuo Rei, a young couple who both cultivate Falun Gong, suffered frustration when they applied for refugee status in Germany. The German authorities misunderstood them and decided they were not Falun Gong practitioners and believed they wouldn’t be persecuted in China. As a result, they repatriated them and their children back to China. However after two weeks, the National Security Bureau in Benshi city subjected them to interrogations for ten hours, and asked them to report about Falun Gong from A to Z. On April 8th, seven public security agents from Benshi and Shengyang cities broke into his parents-in-law’s home and forcefully took him away. They held him in a labour camp in Benshi city and accused him of interfering in the social order and sentenced him to three years in a labour camp without any legal procedure.

This incident immediately drew international attention and protests from human rights organisations. The German Foreign Ministry requested China to explain this; however, China hasn’t made any response yet. The officials of a human rights committee in the German government indicated exactly in the dialogue on human rights between Germany and China held on May 30th, that the German government couldn’t accept the arrest of Jiang Renzheng and his three years sentence to a labour camp. The German government asked China to release Mr. Jiang.

The spokesman from the Chinese Embassy in Germany even lied to a German MP, “The persecutions of Falun Gong practitioners in China are mere fabrications.” The three year sentence to a labour camp for Mr. Jiang is a penalty based on law and his legal rights are under protection.

While Mr. Jiang was jailed, local national and public security agents threatened his family to cooperate to transform Jiang. After Jiang’s detention, his wife, Kuo Rei, had no choice but to leave home to escape the risk of arrest at any time. She was intimidated: if she did not cooperate with the officials, she would be detained like her husband. Their one-year-old and two-year-old children could not be brought up by their parents and are been looked after by their grandparents who have suffered a huge impact in spirit.
In the labour camp, Chinese officials initiated spiritual persecution against Jiang Renzheng and forcefully transformed him and engaged in “brainwashing”. They forced him to watch a large amount of tapes and TV programmes which focus on slandering Falun Gong. He was monitored around the clock. Even if he was suffering from a high fever, they did not stop intimidating and transforming him. Moreover, he was jailed with dozens of criminals, who were instigated to supervise and transform him. Mr. Jiang’s body and spirit were devastated severely during this period. Jiang is under house arrest now as a result of being bailed out for medical treatment.

The German Foreign Ministry urged the Chinese authorities again to release Jiang Renzheng. Despite this, Jiang Renzheng has not been released and is still under house arrest.

German practitioners say formally to the related authorities: release Jiang Renzheng immediately, and return all rights to him and his family. The Falun Gong Association announcement said, “The CCP regime is against heaven's will, and is about to collapse. It is now having difficulty sustaining the persecution. Heaven's final judgement of these evil criminals is imminent. However, one of the purposes of Falun Gong is to save people, including people in all social statuses. Even for those who have committed wrongdoings, there is still an opportunity for them to abandon the evil path and choose to be good.”
