On November 5th and 12th respectively, practitioners in St Petersburg held rallies to call for an end to the Chinese Communist Party’s brutal persecution of Falun Gong practitioners.
Practitioners from St Petersburg and Qudowa participated in these rallies. Huge banners reading “Truthfulness, Compassion, Tolerance” and “The world needs Truthfulness, Compassion, Tolerance” were eye-catching. Many people came over out of curiosity. Practitioners handed them leaflets and told them about the beauty of Falun Gong and the ongoing persecution of innocent believers in these principles. A lot of civilians were touched by practitioners’ compassionate and peaceful hearts. They gladly accepted the materials, and some of them discussed with practitioners in depth.
The photos of tortured practitioners and stories of practitioners’ uncompromising spirit moved people’s hearts and awakened their conscience. They raised all kinds of questions. One of the most common questions was why the Chinese regime would persecute good people. Practitioners told them: “The Chinese Communist Party’ s nature is based on “Falsehood, Hatred and Struggle” and thus it can allow people to choose “Truthfulness, Compassion and Tolerance.” This explanation reminded many civilians about the brutal persecution of their own people by the USSR communist party. Having learned the truth, people in succession signed practitioners’ petition to support Falun Gong. Many college students including some Chinese International students also accepted practitioners’ material.
During the rallies, some practitioners demonstrated the five sets of Falun Gong exercises. Their peaceful and elegant movements impressed many passersby who in succession asked where they could learn the practice.
A reporter of a German radio station interviewed practitioners of this activity. It was the first time for him to hear about the ongoing brutal persecution in China. He was surprised by the fact that western media didn’t give enough coverage on this important issue though it has lasted so long.
