Taiwan: Students Reflect on the "Falun Dafa Practitioners Validating the Fa" Photo Exhibition

Since the introduction of Falun Dafa to public 13 years ago, the ancient cultivation system has attracted more than 100 million people to practise. Falun Dafa requires practitioners to elevate their moral standards and position others first in any situation. In addition, the Falun Gong exercises are very simple and yet have an outstanding effect on healing and fitness. Therefore, every practitioner who has cultivated diligently has benefited greatly from the practice. Ever since the Jiang regime and the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) started to brutally persecute Falun Gong in 1999 and spread lies to demonise Falun Gong, through all kinds of peaceful methods such as protests, displaying banners, parades and rallies, candlelight vigils, anti-torture exhibitions, press conferences and cultural performances, practitioners around the world have been tirelessly clarifying the truth of the persecution and calling upon people's conscience to help end the persecution.

The "Falun Dafa Practitioners Validating the Fa" Photo Exhibit includes 140 photographic works. The photos capture precious historic moments and portray the beauty of cultivating Falun Dafa, the tremendous hardship that Falun Dafa practitioners have faced during their tireless efforts to peacefully resist the unprecedented systematic persecution, the practitioners' faith in the principle of "Truthfulness, Compassion Forbearance", and their uncompromising spirit.

Some Taiwanese students visited the exhibition recently, and were amazed by the uncompromising spirit and great compassion highlighted by the exhibition. A student said: "After viewing the exhibition, I really wanted to practise Falun Dafa to get closer to the principle of 'Truthfulness, compassion and Tolerance'." Below are some reflections they expressed in a writing class afterward.

Yishan Chen:

"Falun Gong Practitioners with Uncompromising Spirit"

"I saw many authentic photos taken from the actual sites. Some showed lovely children practising Falun Gong, some showed injured practitioners who were tortured by the Chinese police. I also saw a photo of an orphan who was so cute and yet lamentable as he had lost both his mom and dad in the persecution. Through the exhibit, I realised that the Chinese police are vicious and brutal. However, I have also learned that there are righteous people such as Falun Gong practitioners who won't yield to evil."

"I Hope the CCP Will Disappear As Soon As Possible"

"After viewing all these photos, I feel that Falun Gong practitioners are truly admirable. I also hope that the communist party in China will soon disappear so that people will have freedom, the practitioners of Falun Gong and "Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance" will not be beaten and tortured anymore, and China will be more peaceful.

Junchen Guo:

"The Mainland Policemen Are too Brutal"

One of the photos of the exhibition gave me the deepest impression: For her belief in Falun Gong, a practitioner was brutally shocked with electric batons and her body had cuts and bruises all over. These Chinese police are too brutal.

Yumin Huang:

"Won't these officials have nightmares?"

We walked into the Taoyuan County Government Hall and saw the photos on display. A lady explained the display, photo by photo. I learned how the Chinese police torture practitioners of Falun Gong brutally. The Chinese Communist Party has exhausted all kinds of methods to torture practitioners: many were disfigured, murdered or shocked with electric batons. For example, a young woman was very beautiful. However, for practising Falun Gong, she was shocked with electric batons for seven hours and totally disfigured. In another case, a pretty young woman was left emaciated after all kinds of torture.

I feel that the Chinese Communist Party has never treated Falun Gong practitioners as human beings. Instead, they torture them to death. Won't these officials have nightmares? If yes, please stop these inhumane treatments and let people practise Falun Gong freely.

Chunhuai Zhang:

"We Never Experience This and Don't Understand Their Suffering"

When I listened to the teachers' introduction, I saw several photos in which practitioners in China were being tortured by various methods such as force-feeding and electric shocks. They were very pitiful, and we don't understand their suffering as we have never experienced such torture. Think about it: Falun Gong in Taiwan originated from the Mainland where Falun Gong is banned now. The ban is totally ridiculous. I don't think that practising Falun Gong is not good, however, the Chinese Communist Party wants to eliminate Falun Gong. It is unfair. Therefore, we should ask the Chinese Communist regime to revoke the ban and release all Falun Gong practitioners.

Ruikai Chen:

"I feel that 'Truthfulness, Compassion Forbearance' Is the Truth"

During the visit to the exhibition, I saw photos of many people around the world practising Falun Gong. When I saw photos which showing practitioners in China being tortured by Chinese police, I then realised that Falun Gong is only banned in China. In recent years, the Chinese Communist regime has been murdering practitioners with appalling means. Consequently, the whole world has been warning the Chinese communist regime. Though Mainland police have never stopped murdering practitioners, practitioners have been continuously appealing to the authorities: The persecution is not right. I feel that "Truthfulness, Compassion Forbearance" is the truth of the universe, and thus we should pursue the truth and spread Falun Dafa to every corner of the world. Today, one can see people practising Falun Gong in many countries, including the U.S., United Kingdom and many other European countries, and indeed Falun Gong has spread to many countries around the world.

"I really want to practise Falun Dafa to get closer to Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance"

After viewing the exhibition, I really want to practise Falun Dafa to get closer to Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance. I now realise that I still lack Truthfulness and Compassion. I think that pursuing truthfulness, righteous compassion and forbearance is an important subject.

Yanzhi Yao:

The exhibition has a lot of Falun Gong photos. We started with the first row. One photo showed many people forming the three Chinese characters, "Falun Gong." It was spectacular. One exhibit guide said: "There are about 100 million people practising Falun Gong around the world." I was shocked, so many people! When we went to the second row, we saw Chinese police using very brutal means to torture practitioners to death. One practitioner' face was disfigured by an electric baton. I feel that the Mainland police are too brutal.

Yuqian Zeng:

There are many excellent photos. Some had many practitioners forming the three Chinese characters for "Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance;" some showed the good energy produced when people practised Falun Gong together. It was wonderful.

Yashui Luo:

The most exciting classes are always the out-of-class activities. On Friday morning, our teacher announced that we would go to visit a photo exhibit on the following Tuesday. I told mom this great news right after school. On that day, I got up very early and was very energetic. When we arrived at the county government building, led by our teachers, we visited the photo exhibition. Several exhibition guides walked us through the photographic world. With wonderful music playing, we were fully absorbed by the exhibition.

Haoren Wang:

When we arrived at the Taoyuan County Government building, a guide came to walk us through the photo exhibition. The first photo he explained to us was about a peaceful protest of Falun Gong practitioners. Because Jiang Zemin banned Falun Gong in China, those practitioners were protesting the ban. Another photo showed a young lady imprisoned for her belief in Falun Gong. Guards didn't give her food and she became emaciated. Another photo was actually taken in our Taoyuan county. Some of our teachers also participated in that event, in which many people were riding bicycles. In relay fashion, they were trying to circle the whole island in order to call attention to the persecution of Falun Gong. I saw that every participant was very dedicated because all of them are admirable practitioners of Falun Gong.

Shihen Jian:

When I saw the brutal scene of Falun Dafa practitioners being tortured by Chinese police, I could not accept it. In addition, I also saw many people forming characters and the Falun Emblem. It was spectacular!
