On January 10th, Spain's National Court released information to the media that Spain will begin the investigation of the crime of genocide against the Tibetan people by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) from the 1980s to 1990s. The media in Europe and the world have reported the development.
Reuters released the news saying that Comite de Apoyo Del Tibet (CAT) made an appeal to the secondary court against the crime of genocide committed by seven high-ranking officials of the CCP, including its former chairman Jiang Zemin, after the lawsuit was set aside by Judge Moleino in the elementary court. If the various kinds of persecution of the Tibetan people by the CCP stated in the charge by the CAT are proved to be true after necessary investigation, the charge of genocide will be validated. Spain's National Court will conduct an investigation in accordance with the stipulation of Spain's constitution that even if the victims are not of Spanish nationality, the national judicial organs still have the right to conduct a judicial investigation of the accused.
According to the evidence, since 1950, the CCP has begun political and cultural suppression in Tibet. According to the statistics of the Tibetan government in exile, until 1959, suppression by the CCP has caused the death of 87,000 Tibetan people. In addition, the CCP implemented severe suppression and persecution on temples and Buddhists in Tibet. In 1956, Tibet's politic and spiritual leader Dalai Lama was forced into exile in India. In 1987 and 1993, violent protest and demonstration against the CCP government took place in Tibet, which was suppressed with force. At present Tibetan religious activities are restricted and a large number of the PLA are stationed in Tibet. The CCP has full control of Tibet. Meanwhile, information about Tibet is blocked. Tibet a peaceful, isolated nation can only maintain silence under the CCP's dictatorial rule. At present, the Spanish Constitutional Court is also handling the genocide charge filed by the Falun Gong spiritual movement against the Chinese economic minister Bo Xilai last year.
